UPDATE: The response from the owner is disingenuous and false. The employee I spoke with on the phone was the same employee I had emailed with previously about the order. There was no confusion about the status. I asked multiple times to confirm on the phone that my order would be ready for pickup on the agreed upon date and that everything was set. By the way, I called the number provided by the owner this morning with no response. I assume this reply and all the others on their other 1 star reviews are just a false attempt to save face online. As stated previously, STAY AWAY! HAPPY BAKESHOP IS NOT A HAPPY PLACE! Stay away! Similarly to what many others have noted in their 1 star reviews, I ordered and confirmed a customer cupcake order for my 6 year old daughter's birthday only to arrive to pick them up and be told they had no record of the order and would not fulfill the order. I submitted an online request for 24 puppy-themed cupcakes on Tuesday September 24th for my daughter's birthday party on Saturday the 28th. Happy bakeshop responded quickly via email to confirm the order and to ask a few additional questions, as well to to make sure I was fine picking the order up on Friday evening before the party to accommodate their bakery schedule. I called the bakery back on Wednesday the 25th at 1:30pm (I have all the phone records). I spoke with the bakery staff for 5 minutes. During this phone call I confirmed that we approved of the puppy designs they had sent, approved the flavors of the cupcakes (4 of them being gluten free), and confirmed that I would be there to pick the order up on Friday at 5:00pm the evening before the party. Before hanging up I confirmed a second time that I would be there at 5:00pm to pick up the customer order. Flash forward to Friday at 5:00pm... I arrive wife my daughter who has been excited to pick up her puppy cupcakes all day. The staff member working there told me they had no record of my order. I showed him both the email and the record of my phone call. He told me they would make it right and that he just needed to get in touch with the baker. I left him with my name and phone number. He called back about 30 minutes later and told me the baker informed him they would not actually be able to fulfill the order since "they are so busy tomorrow." Now my daughter is devastated and we are scrambling to figure out an alternative for her puppy themed party tomorrow. Shame on Happy Bakeshop. This place is anything but happy.

Amazing customer service, execution, and DELISH baked goods!!! Evan went above and beyond to make our dessert vision come true for our wedding. Evan was very kind, patient, proactive and generous with their time. From the start of our first email to every call thereafter and even working our wedding, we couldn't have been in better hands with Evan. We had a tall order: we got 5 or 6 types of mini cupcakes, a 3 tier cake of 3 different flavors, all dairy-free, and cookies for goody bags suggested by Evan which Evan hand tied with mini discoballs on request. The cake was unbelievably tasty! I dream of it daily. The cupcakes were freakin adorable but sadly my plate of them got thrown out (who does that) during our reception so I never got to try them but everyone ate every last ounce of dessert which I feel never happens at weddings so this should also speak to their level of quality, presentation and flavor. The flavors are awesome too! So much variety. We went with a lemon lavender (yummm), custom coconut chocolate cinnamon (amaze), and mexican hot chocolate for cake (Okay wow). I was obsessed with, and savoring all of it. We had several left over cookies (salted choc chip and white sprinkles) and I was sooo glad cuz they were delicious. But really I want to highlight and express my gratitude for Evan. Without Evan this would not have been possible and we are sooooo thankful for your time, attention and care. You are awesome! TLDR: If you are considering Happy Bake Shop for your wedding or any event, or just a sweet treat yoself moment, I highly recommend them for their quality, value, presentation and customer experience. You will not be disappointed, and they will go the extra mile for you! Thank you SO much HBS!! We can't wait to come back (but really i need to lay off the cake and cookies for a hot sec hahaha).

Really disapointed with their service, they did'nt make my order. I call in advance to custom some cupcakes for my boyfriend's birthday, I wrote an email with the flavors and pictures so they have an idea of what I wanted, I even sent different kinds of cupcakes designs and told them to choose which one was easier for them depending of the bakery style. I was super excited all week because it was a surprise gift, I got off work earlier so I can pick them up to found up that my order didn't exist. They told me probably a new employee put a diferent date for the pick up, I show the email and designs and confirmation email from them. An important day was ruined, they just told me to pick the cupcakes they had there which is not a solution for something you've planned in advance. I just had regular cupcakes instead of the pirate ones I wanted. With this review I just want to express how me and other people feel when they planned a special celebration, the dedication to choose YOU and get a bad service, I really had a bad time, so sad and disapointed. luckily I'm creative and get to fix them.

Definitely not a "Happy" Bakeshop. Very sad. We had awful customer service experience. My wife and I attempted several times to order cupcakes for our wedding. They have tasty cupcakes, but I would recommend taking your business elsewhere if you plan on ordering for an event. Below are my reasons why they failed at customer service.

First attempt, we walked in to order the cupcakes and cake with an employee at the register, but was told that we can not place the order in store. We would have to contact their wedding coordinator via email or phone. We immediately left a voicemail and email. No response.

Second attempt, I called the main phone line (not to be confused with the wedding coordinator phone number) a WEEK LATER to verify if their coordinator received our order request. The employee told me that they are between coordinators, but they will make sure they respond to our request. TWO DAYS later, we received a response via email, however, the cupcakes are up-charged because it was for a wedding. The PRICE DIFFERENCE was $100. Our order was not a custom order, but from the menu provided on their website. The price per cupcake was $4.00 compared to the $3.25 on their menu. It may not seem much, but the price stacks up when you are ordering several quantities. Of course, the coordinator did not respond to our concern about the price difference.

Due to the significant price difference, we decided to call ahead to stop by the shop to share our concern. We asked the cashier about the price difference and she responded that there is an extra charge for customizing the cupcakes. We reiterated that this order was from their usual menu. Nothing is being altered from their everyday cupcake. She agreed that the price should not differ. We asked if we can place the order with her since their coordinator fails to respond. She took our order on a form with our credit card information and told us we would later receive a call within 48 hours to confirm the order and new qoute.

Third attempt, as you may guess, 7 DAYS passed and no one did not get back to us on the new quote. We decided to stop in again to see why there was no response. We asked the employee on the status of our order, but they could not find our order form that was filled out during previous visit. The excuse that we received is "the owner sometimes takes the orders with her". They said she would call her and get back to us ASAP.

The employee called my wife back to confirm they have found the order (apparently the form was the wrong color paper). Over the phone, we were quoted $210 for the full order. We agreed to the price with excitement and all. Our long battle of ordering cupcakes was finally over with, so we thought...

That same evening, we received an email from the owner with the official price quote and of course the prices differed again. We were quoted $70 more than we were told over the phone. Frustrated with this business, we decided to cancel the orders entirety.

If you want outstanding cupcakes with excellent customer service, I recommend ordering from Goldmine Cupcakes in Golden instead. They were able to accommodate for us with a week notice (thanks to Happy Bakeshop). Definitely try their Blue Moon...
