Have been coming to this location for yeeeeaaarrrsss. Today it seems the manager Dee was on some sort of power trip. Refused to accept my digital ID citing that it was company policy (although I’ve used it at multiple IP locations including this one). When I presented her with legal proof that she was obligated to take my digital ID, she told me to call corporate. I told her that I would be happy to sit with her while she called corporate as she would have much better luck talking to someone than I, she then stated that she would refuse to serve me regardless of what corporate said as I was coming off “too agitated”. Was pretty flabbergasted by this statement as I was calm and collected and have had this conversation a few times so I’m not bothered by it. Generally when you show someone proof of a law, they tend to follow it. She then abruptly walked away from me. The total stranger sitting next to me at the bar even commented on the fact that I was not at all unpleasant and I handled that better than he would have. Then after my friend got up to go to the bathroom, Dee came over and confiscated my friends drink and told me to leave. Pretty shocked overall by this experience. Like I said, I’ve been coming here for years, prolly my early-mid 20’s (I’m 31) and have never experienced this. I’ve also never seen Dee before so not sure if she’s new or what. Regardless, the blatant disregard for not only the law but my request for her to get confirmation from higher ups for my inquiry was astounding. As someone who also runs a business, this is completely...
Read moreUPDATE: I’m leaving to my original review below because that’s was my experience and I want to share it. That being said, I spoke with the management team and I was happy with their response. I love Pete’s food and don’t want to disparage their entire business because of a couple bad employees. I’ve gone back to Pete’s, but I no longer order online because I don’t trust the staff.
My original review:
I ordered a burrito for pickup. When I got home, my “burrito” was essentially a softball. I returned it and asked for a new one only to get attitude from the mustached hipster working the register. He begrudgingly made my new burrito. When I got home to eat it, I found TWO TOOTHPICKS INSIDE. I was wondering why the woman who brought it to me had such a weird look on her face. When I found the first one, I just pulled it out but it’s hard to enjoy the food if you’re not sure what’s in your mouth (or if you’ll get stabbed). I bit into the second toothpick and was rightfully mad. They made my food like garbage, then sabotaged my new food. When I brought the second order back, the hipster was shaking in his boots because he didn’t think I’d come back again. I was refunded my order, but will never return. Way to go, Pete! You took a regular customer and turned them into an angry customer who will continue to tell this story to anybody who mentions Illegal Pete’s. I even filled out your survey form after the order and didn’t even receive a response. A complete lack of...
Read moreLove the food here. The service is always hit or miss though, which is unfortunate because I literally just moved in right across the street from this location. If it's the last scoop of the fajita veggies ( or anything for that matter; chicken, steak, etc) and you are literally scraping them off the crusted pan.... I probably don't want those ones. When I asked if they had any fresh ones coming up you would have though I had asked for there first born. So i scratched the burrito I was planning on getting and got tacos.... Check out was fine. But then I had to wait 10 minutes just to get someone from the staffs attention to refill the sugar so I could make my sweet tea. When I finally did get her attention, she was not happy at all about this inconvenience I was asking her to do. If i wasn't having such a great day i would have walked right back up to the counter and taken my $5 out of the tip jar.....Everyone working there always seems pissed off about something or maybe its just there hipster ways...There's an outside patio and shuffle board? ( not sure because I don't play) but its a fun environment. Convenient location (if you're like me and bike, if not I would suggest parking on a side street and walking over, The parking lots small and its like playing jenga watching cars come and go...
