MiddleState Coffee — Restaurant in Denver

When I walked into this coffee shop, instead of being greeted with a friendly “hello,” I was immediately yelled at with “we don’t allow dogs.” I completely understand and respect that policy. However, my dog is a service animal, and the way I was spoken to made me feel extremely unwelcome. The abrupt tone left me no opportunity to explain her role before being dismissed. I wasn’t planning to sit down — just grab a coffee and continue my walk — but after that experience, I had no desire to give them my business.

Two days earlier, I had entered another coffee shop with the exact same policy. They greeted me warmly, complimented my dog, kindly explained the law, and asked me a couple of questions as required. That’s how you handle it.

Stopped in this coffee shop on a whim and now I go there every week. The coffee is strong but smooth and they have tons of options beyond the usual stuff. Tried their iced caramel latte and it was the best I’ve had anywhere. Staff is friendly and they actually seem to enjoy being there. The shop itself is cozy with good music and lots of plugs for laptops. Great spot to get work done or just chill. Only thing is it can get a little crowded during peak hours but that’s just cause it’s popular. Prices are fair and the pastries are fresh every time. i love this place probably my favorite coffee shop in all of denver! i am really picky about the espresso roast i like, and although im no expert nor did i ask what beans they use, the espresso was good! I ordered an iced vanilla latte w oat and also i tried their pink peppercorn vanilla latte w oat as well! It was delicious. I tend to dislike espresso’s that have more of a citrus/ acidic flavor so if you’re like me you’ll love their espresso blend. I know they’re really known for their blends of coffee they sell as well!! Ambiance is impeccable and baristas are so nice.
