Edited to add - they really don’t know what they lost in Queen City coffee. What used to be a community hub every morning is now a ghost town. I live in the neighborhood and looked forward to seeing the same faces, kids, and dogs every morning. I tried the coffee this morning and it’s just okay but what really made me sad was to see a completely empty shop. You used to not be able to find a seat. Although after hearing through the rumor mill how they treated the queer staff of Queen City, I’m happy they ultimately found a place that’s a better fit. Sad to watch a place on my block mess with the community vibe. Ready to see a new business here altogether honestly.
Original review - When I asked about an NA option, the beertender (who seemed to maybe be the owner), rudely replied “well someone is drinking right?” When we said yes they had a couple of sparkling waters. It’s 2024 and lots of us choose to not drink for many reasons, it’s no need for hostility.
To the business’ reply - a white man was rude to me? And is this really how you want to treat/talk to a queer person on your own block? I’m not trying to bash your business, I gave you another shot with the coffee and had additional thoughts to add to my review. This is one way to alienate your...
Read moreI was a coffee customer during coffee hours (nearing beer hours) trying to charge my laptop and the only available outlet was at a large table. It had a sign reserving it for large parties but there was another small party at a “large party” table so I figured it was fine to sit. I was going to move if any big groups came in. The shop was fairly empty with only a couple coffee customers quietly working or chatting.
As soon as I started moving to the big table, Tamir told me to I can’t sit there. I asked about the other big table with a small party. Still was told no (they were getting up to leave at this point). Ultimately, I left the shop entirely because I needed an outlet but couldn’t use the one available due to an imaginary group of brewery customers having imaginary drinks I guess.
I would’ve had a beer and stayed to work at a small corner table had I been allowed to charge my computer for a bit while the shop was mostly empty. He’s been name dropped in other reviews for being rude so I guess I’m not...
Read moreI've been coming to the coffee shop brewery combo for about a year now. The vibe, the coffee, and the beer are all amazing. The baristas are also courteous, skilled, and generally really nice. However, as of my last experience with a specific brewery staff member, I'm considering never going back. I went in near close of the coffee shop schedule and bought a coffee with my friend. Knowing that the brewery was about to switch over I asked the brewery staff member if it would be ok for us to sit for a few minutes promising to buy a to-go beer on my way out. Additionally, I promised to move if the brewery got busy (it wasn't) and tables were needed for people to stay. To me, this seemed extremely reasonable. However, this dude informed me that this wasn't acceptable and was generally really rude. I was blown away. Was my request really that unreasonable? I never leave these reviews but this guy was such a jerk. Seems really counter to the idea of a...
