So I picked up an order here for a delivery app, and I came in very cheerful, even told the lady at the counter how good their menu looked. I texted my husband that we needed to come here because they had some amazing looking pies.
The lady told me my order wasn't quite ready, it would be about 5-7 minutes. No problem, so I let the customer know.
So time went by, and it was about 25 minutes later that I asked her the status, and she said they hadn't even started making my order yet. So it would be about 5 more minutes.
Okay, so I gave her 10 minutes. I went to the counter again, and I'm pretty sure I saw the cooks making my order and then put it on top of the oven.
I asked her again, and she said it would be 5 more minutes. I asked her why she kept telling me that? She told me 5 minutes when I walked in.
So I gave her 10 minutes, by then it had been 45 minutes, the customer and I were having a full fledged back and forth and he was pretty upset with the restaurant. He said he would make it worth my time to wait.
I went back to the counter and now she was avoiding me and the group of others waiting for orders entirely by sweeping the floors and pretending we didn't exist. She made us wait and wait and wait.
She finally came back and I asked her why she kept lying and she blamed it on her kitchen crew, who didn't appear to speak any English to defend themselves. She said she didn't know when it would be ready and that the delivery apps don't give her the chance to say how long it really takes. Then why lie to us when we walk in, lady?
It was more than an hour before she produced two lousy pizzas. The customer turned out to be the lead singer of a band that was playing that night at the Mission Ballroom, and they were not going to have time to eat before they went on stage.
So while the pizza place sucked, and that lady sucked, I got to meet someone cool and get an autograph for my kid. Do not recommend this place at all.
Edit: she's also mean to that poor waitress. That poor girl...
Read moreI have been here twice. The first day, I sat at the bar before the dinner rush. I enjoyed some beers, a Caesar salad, and a calzone.
The service was not the best. It was not busy (maybe 3 tables) but the staff spent quite a bit of time playing around. The food was ok. The calzone had a great crust and 5hey added fresh jalapeños which is a nice option. The regatta cheese was all on one side of the calzone. That left that side of the calzone stuffing room temperature. There was little ro no red sauce and it was not offered with the calzone. The meal was fairly priced and the atmosphere was pretty good.
The second time, I opted to sit outside on the patio. The service came more frequently as a whole on this visit (older servers were working). I opted to order a beer and their "famous" oven baked wings. The wings were just not good. I had 1/2 Buffalo and 1/2 garlic parm. The Buffalo sauce was typical. Not too hot. The garlic parm might as well have been plain. The blue cheese came in a thimble. All that was tolerable, but the wings were tough and chewy. I tried to power through them but had to call it.
Atmosphere on trip 2... there was family enjoying their meal at the expense of others. Their 4-5 year old screamed (not talking loud, shreeking to his tablet babysitter) constantly with little to no attention paid by the parents. The entitled parents then got into a dispute... no cares or input by the restaurant about the disturbance. The waiter asked if I needed anything else. I asked for earplugs.... they did not show.
This is in a nice neighborhood and generally nice folks walking around. The patio was nice. Just 1 d-bag entitled family ruining the...
Read moreA group of us recently went to the restaurant on a Tuesday night. There were 6 of us, and we arrived at 7pm. The waiter wasn’t overly friendly but he got the job done. Our food was pretty good. At 9:15pm, 2 of the younger people in our group had to leave. The adults who remained had something to discuss so we stayed and each ordered another drink. The restaurant is supposed to close at 10pm so we didn’t think there’d be a problem. The waiter was irritated that we ordered another drink and told us they’d be closing soon. We all thought that 45 min was plenty of time to have one drink. The agitated waiter brought us our drinks, and literally 5 minutes after we got them at about 930, he came out and started collecting stuff off our table and told us we had to leave because they were closed now. At 9:30. It was extremely annoying and unprofessional for him to have charged us fur 3 more drinks and then decide suddenly to close a half hour early and tell us to leave. None of us will be going back there. Terrible service and waste of money for us. Apparently they just close when they feel like it no matter what is going on. I would never recommend this place to anyone after that. And we all used to love Oblios and used to frequent the restaurant. ...
