Update: This sweet cafe has become a welcoming staple in my neighborhood. It's perfectly set up for studying and remote work. The drip is tasty and they have a variety of little snacks (bagels, quiche, bakery sweets) to munch on. I've been back to ordering lattes and cappuccinos and am very pleased with their oat milk. The service is excellent and warm, their latte art game is getting to par, and I still consistently enjoy spending time here. They are my personal favorite of the cafes in Park Hill. I am stoked that they're going to offer an affogato on the menu soon - summer can't get here soon enough!
Previous (02/2019): This is a really cute cafe, good for studying or remote work with small work tables geared for that crowd. The drip is tasty and they have a variety of little snacks (bagels, quiche, bakery sweets) to munch on. The service is friendly, though my house has consistently found that if you order a small cup for here and a large cup for here back-to-back, there's a high chance they switch which drink was which size. I also hope they up their game on the non-dairy milk lattes, more often I've found the nut milks have separated at my first sip (super sad), but I'm holding out hope they get it right. Will continue coming back because the atmosphere is lovely and I consistently enjoy...
Read moreThis was my first time going to this coffee shop and I will likely never come back. The girl with orange curly hair and glasses has a serious attitude problem. There was noone else there in line or anywhere near and she was really impatient about me browsing the menu that is hand written on chalkboard. Then rushed me as she was taking the order with the most flat affect ever. She asked a name for the order and then she said another name, I have a hispanic name, it felt like a micro agression. The whole experience was super uncomfortable and I felt really out of place. It felt like this girl really resented having to serve me for whatever reason. I literally walked and and said hi and she immediately upon looking at me approached our interaction with an attitude and a tinge of disdain. Was not expecting that on this calm Saturday morning. I was having a great day up until then. I order an iced coconut latte with a vegan breakfast burrito and the burrito was good but the latte tasted like coffee and milk no coconut or even vanilla flavor, and I don't think they made it properly. Anyway this is why I rated it this place poorly, because I had a negative experience and cannot recommend anyone...
Read moreMy friend and I stopped at this coffee shop this morning for coffee and food and the young lady at the register did everything to ignore us, even when I said good morning as I walked up to the register no response. She wouldn't even acknowledge that I was standing in front of her waiting for her to take me and my friends order, when it became pretty apparent that she was not in anyway shape or form in a hurry to take me and my friends order I walked right past my friend and told her lets go and told her when we got outside that I was not going to waste my money at a place where people are conducting themselves like that my friend and I went to another coffee shop that was about 5 minutes from Torpedos and the moment my friend and I walked in to the other coffee shop we were greeted immediately and was told by one of the employees we will be with you in a moment' and THAT IS HOW YOU RUN CONDUCT A BUSINESS. I don't know if the young lady was a racist because me and my friend are African American but whatever her problem was we won't be supporting an...
