Prodigy Coffeehouse Globeville feels almost random...but every neighborhood needs a cute little place. Here's hoping my area one day gets one! But with that being said, Prodigy is a full of light, with a welcoming air and tons of space. Not only do they have outdoor seating for warm days, they have plenty of seating inside (even though it was all full while I was there). However, they do ask for no pets (not sure if that only means indoors), but I did see a sign on their door specifying only service animals. Annd they also have a meeting room (equipped with a TV) that you can reserve, which for some reason I find really cool!
Now to the important part :) One of the baristas recommended the honey cinnamon latte, something I never would have picked out myself AND it's not a combination I come across often so I decided to give it a try. While it wasn't my favorite, I did grow on me...until the bottom where the cinnamon becomes overwhelming. But I also ordered the Coconut Cabana tea (which they were sadly out of after I ordered), but another barista let me smell some of the other teas to pick from and I found one I super loved! I remember it had Boulder in the title but I'm actually terrible and don't remember the full name.
Now my favorite part of this place was the veggie breakfast burrito. Oh my gosh it was so freaking delicious and you can pick a green or red chili sauce for dipping on the side. I will seriously dream about it because it was so...

Prodigy has a lot going for it: the coffee is solid, and the space itself is bright, clean, and inviting. It’s the kind of place you’d want to sit and enjoy a cup or get some work done — in theory.
Unfortunately, the experience is soured by the service. In hospitality, the keyword is hospitality. A warm greeting, a simple smile, or even a friendly “how’s your day going?” can make all the difference. What I experienced instead was cold, disinterested staff who barely acknowledged I was there. No eye contact, no engagement, and certainly no effort to make me feel welcome.
It’s hard to fully enjoy the coffee and ambiance when the human element is lacking. A café is more than just beans and décor — it’s about connection and creating a welcoming environment. If Prodigy can bring that same energy to their customer service as they do to their branding and space, this place could easily become a favorite.
Until then, it’s an okay stop — but not a...
Read moreThis is a quality independent coffee house that benefits the community with their program that teaches business and coffee skills to local young people. They have a selection of house-made syrups and seasonal drinks that are lovely, and a great batch brew coffee. This morning I had a champurrado, but I would not say their drink menu is huge (don’t come here for a caramel crunch ribbon frappe). They do offer alternative milks. I really appreciate the local return on investment, so on those very rare times that I don’t get a great cup of coffee, I don’t mind. It’s a learning experience. They offer a small selection of pastries and things like breakfast burritos, none of which I’ve tried, so I can’t speak to that. The atmosphere is clean, well lit, and open, not cluttered with decor. There’s usually music playing but not at an offensive volume. Both locations have outdoor seating areas for good weather, and some indoor community areas and smaller nooks for folks who might be...
