I had high hopes for Number 38 when I convinced 15 of my friends to head there for Game 7 of the Nuggets matchup. Some were hesitant, but I assured them it would be a good spot. Unfortunately, it turned out to be anything but.
When we first arrived in the afternoon, we were disappointed to find that pizza wasn’t available. However, the other food options, while serviceable, did arrive quickly, which gave us some hope for the rest of our visit. Sadly, as the day went on, it became clear that the lack of staffing was going to make for a frustrating experience.
For one, the sound system was unbearably loud and distorted—making it nearly impossible to follow the game. What should have been an electrifying atmosphere turned into a painful struggle to decipher what was going on. And then, there was the bar service—or lack thereof. There simply weren’t enough bartenders on staff. Our group waited 45 minutes for drinks, causing some of my friends to leave before halftime. Others I spoke to later said they waited over an hour and a half for their orders.
By halftime, we had had enough and decided to leave. I found myself apologizing to my friends and family for bringing them to a place that simply wasn’t prepared to handle a busy afternoon like this.
I won’t be bringing a large group here again for a major sporting event. The Nuggets losing was bad enough, but the awful service made the day even worse. Number 38 should seriously reevaluate its staffing levels and setup for big games if it wants to keep customers coming back. I imagine plenty of people left feeling the same way we did—and that’s a reputation hard to...
Read moreCame here to check out the restaurant in it and found this place being quite interesting and nice. At the front desk they check your ID and then will scan a credit card. With this, they give you a wristband that has a chip to scan for making purchases within. The inside is decided by a bar with numerous taps from a few Colorado breweries and then have several of that breweries brews. They also have cider and wine on tap as well as a cocktail menu that appears to rotate. At one end of the bars is the restrooms. At the other end is a restaurant called Split Lip. They offer a small variety of burgers, sandwiches, and pizza though it appears the pizza might be only done at night but wasn’t sure based on a cardboard sign saying no pizza until 4 PM. The outdoor space with where this place really shines. Large private patio divided into different sections. One section has a large stage with fake grass “lawn” in front of it and tables surrounding it as well. Another area had more tables and a large BBQ/grill. There is a sand volleyball area with a nearby raised bar. Based on signs, they host a variety of events from free movies, bands, and pop up markets. When I was there, they were hosting a clothing event that was taking up a lot of space but you could still move around and find seating. They even had a DJ on an inside staff. The only weird thing was the outside seating only had a couple shaded/umbrellas yet there is a lot of overhead heating units for wintertime. The downside is not a lot of close parking especially with the amount of construction...
Read moreMy company reserved the private outdoor bar and patio area for a 50-person work summer BBQ with kids, and our experience from start to finish at Number 38 was EXCEPTIONAL! The owner, Spencer, personally took our reservation, was flexible when we didn't know our initial party number, and provided very easy to curate drink and a la carte menus. I am our company's "Party-planner" and have booked a lot of events. Some places make the booking and reservation process seem so difficult, and Spencer made it so easy I was afraid I was missing something, but I wasn't! Spencer and his events coordinator, Shara, were quick to respond, flexible with changes, and even provide a booking portal through which you can access you invoice, messages, and reservation. So easy!! When the day arrived, the space was clean and ready. Our bartender, Kayla, was friendly, attentive, and capable and felt like one of the family by the end of the afternoon. They easily accommodated our vegan attendees with a vegan dip, but it was the chicken wings that people couldn't stop talking about. So good!! We had the misfortune of having a squall blow through mid-party, and the staff again responded quickly and expertly to make sure our party goers were and happy and that the party continued ASAP. We had an absolute blast and could not recommend Kayla, Shara, Spencer, and Number 38 enough for your next party. They provide a friendly, fun, and professional experience from...
