Extended Family Home Care — Local services in Denver

Our experience with Extended Family Home Care has been 100% positive. My mother was in an Independent Living facility, but needed some assistance in the mornings as she slowed down and her dementia got worse. We interviewed a few agencies, but Extended Family immediately had the right feel for us. I was especially impressed with the lengthy conversations I had with Leah as she figured out what services would be beneficial for my mom, what she enjoyed, and which caregiver would be the best match for her. We were so fortunate to have Susan as our caregiver. She was kind, compassionate, caring, and she knew exactly what my mom needed. She came 3 mornings a week and helped her with breakfast, showering, dressing, tidied up, did laundry, kept her apartment organized, and left her with a delicious healthy lunch plate. She also did a lot of extra things, such as painting her nails, going on short walks and providing friendly conversation as they got to know each other.

Until the COVID19 restrictions, I was able to help and visit my mom on most days that Susan wasn't there. However, once restrictions were in place, Susan was my mom's only help. During that time, her friendship with my mom became essential. Susan's care and compassion was a life saver for us. She became my connection with my mom, letting me know how she was doing and what groceries/supplies she needed. The care Susan provided for my mom was excellent, but she also helped me, by being there when I couldn't. I never worried on the days that Susan was there.

Extended Family excels at communication. Leah and Jon both were easy to contact, and very responsive. It seems that Leah could be reached at any time of the day. Both of them were helpful with any schedule changes, and were willing to work with me whenever I had a question.

Unfortunately my mom's situation changed, and she had to move into Assisted Living, so we no longer need the help from Extended Family. I would recommend them to anyone who wants quality compassionate care for...

I have had a wonderful experience with Extended Family Home Care. I had to go through fertility treatment to become pregnant. Afterward, I had to be bed rest/ light activities due to complications. I couldn't lift any weights, and need help with household chores. My husband has a traveling job, and had to return to work. I was initially anxious about having someone come into my home. We interviewed several companies to find a caretaker for me. The staff in Extend Family Home Care was profession and very helpful. It was reassuring to know that the caretaker had been through training, and background checks. It was good to know that in the case that the primary caretaker was unavailable, there was someone else to fill in. With the exception of one day, I have had the same caretaker throughout. She helped me for everything that I requested: including: doing laundry, cooking, grocery shopping, picking up medication, walking the dog, lawn work and cleaning. She was very efficient and did a really great job. She was very friendly and nice. I felt that I can really trust her and have developed a good relationship with her.
