Hands down coolest bar I've ever been to
The entire space has such a cool underground east coast energy which brings a new york type vibe here to Denver.
All the rooms are so cool, and the dynamic space with different areas is perfect for hanging out with friends, taking pictures, and meeting new people. Went to a photography magazine release party here, and everything about this place was so unique and I loved the lighting and the overall atmosphere/energy. There's also a nice outdoor space too with music, lights, tables, and lots of standing room.
The drinks and service were great, the only thing was that the line got extremely long at certain points, but we went on a Saturday night though so that's to be expected.
There was a food truck parked right out front that had the most DELICIOUS gorditas and the ladies running it were so friendly. --one of our friends had actually ended up passing out/fainting because he hadn't had anything to eat all day, and they came out and helped us all out and were so incredibly kind in making sure he was alright (the bar staff came out as well and brought ice for his head too) - we really appreciated everyone's concern and genuine care in this situation, and he ended up being okay.
Another thing to keep in mind is that there's a cactus plant out front that claimed a few victims, so if you're hanging out there, just be careful lol. I ended up helping one random girl remove tons of tiny needles from her hands and arms after she fell into it, but honestly we bonded and it was a good icebreaker/introduction lmao.
Anyway, I apologize for the long review, but there was so much about this place that I absolutely loved and felt it was so unique that I had to take the time to review it fully.
11/10...
Read moreIn the cacophony of culinary and libation landscapes, nestled within the enigmatic streets of Denver, lies a gem that defies convention and transcends expectations. Fort Greene, a humble sanctuary adorned with the patina of time, marries the unassuming allure of a dive bar with the refined essence of haute indulgence.
As I stepped into its dimly lit embrace, I was enveloped by an ambiance that whispered tales of bygone eras, yet simultaneously exuded an air of sophistication reserved for the most discerning palates. The juxtaposition was striking, an ode to the harmonious dance between nostalgia and modernity.
The libations, dear reader, were a symphony of flavors orchestrated by artisans of the highest order. Each concoction, a testament to the mastery of mixology, teased the senses and ignited the imagination. From the robust complexities of aged spirits to the delicate nuances of bespoke infusions, every sip was a voyage unto itself, guided by the skilled hands of a knowledgeable staff well-versed in the alchemy of alcohol.
In this bastion of imbibement, where the echoes of laughter mingle with the clinking of glasses, I found solace in the dichotomy of its identity. It is a haven where the worn leather of barstools whispers secrets of yesteryear, while the gleam of crystal glasses speaks of refined indulgence.
Fort Greene is not merely a destination; it is an experience—a journey of the senses that celebrates the timeless allure of a dive bar while paying homage to the refined sensibilities of high-end establishments. It is, in essence, a testament to the transformative power of libation and camaraderie—a place where the spirit finds respite and the soul...
Read moreFt Greene has always been and still remains my favorite bar in Denver. First of all it is absolutely beautiful in a curated and thoughtful way. The paper poppies adorning the ceiling have always had an instant calming effect on me, and the antique back bar of dark wood and mirror is stunning. The cocktails are always perfect, and I adore the selection of amari. The wide selection of non alcoholic beverages is also wonderful (and helps me to balance out the potent and drinkable cocktails). Most of all I appreciate the lack of (sorry people) pretentious and obnoxious characters which seem to have penetrated all parts of Denver these days. Ft Greene is a welcoming place thankfully lacking in the “we’re too cool for you” vibe I get from so many other places. It’s a peaceful, kind and calming environment to share a drink with good company, exactly what a good...
