Wow. I was looking for a Pho place that opened early and found Tony Pho. I think the sign said they were open from 9-9. It's been a while since I was surprised by a new restaurant. The staff that greeted me were very nice and very attentive and I conversed with them a bit before ordering. Place wasn't busy but I had shown up fairly early. I really liked the menu, it had a lot of options, for pho, that some of the usual pho places I go closer to home didn't have. My waiter helped me pick out a drink I never had. I really likes the salty lemonade. It was amazing and I've never tasted anything like it. For me, they recommended it with soda water...which I believe was the right choice. Medium bowl, with added grilled chicken filled me up...I'm a big guy and felt like I needed a nap. Prices were about the same as other pho places around west Denver and east Golden. While I was thoroughly loving the food, I noticed the folks that came in - were all returning customers. Then, some guy walks in. He walked to the busy tables, obviously knew the people and checked in on them. I heard them call him Tony. Wow (again). What a super charisma and demeanor he had about him. The place was cheerful already but just lighted up even more when he showed up. I don't remember seeing anything like this in a restaurant before. I'm going back to this place for sure. Oh, and this may be one of the most random restaurant review notes ever, but I appreciate the WIDE parking spots. This is in a small strip mall but thankfully they didn't make each parking spot Prius wide. Parking could fill up and you may have to search around for a spot, but in their lot my brunch was complimented by the fact I didn't have a worry on a...
Read moreFood, Service, Kindness, AUTHENTIC VIETNAMESE! DENVER'S BEST PHO! I go there often and usually host a lot of family. The place just feels right. Cases of pop stacked high in the corner. Tubs of candy in a corner booth for happy customers upon check out. THE FOOD! All soups wonderful. All spring rolls and the DIY spring roll kit with pork or beef is to die for. The vermicelli bowls are all authentic and super tasty with the fish sauce. THE SERVICE. Kind and efficient. Tony himself is there most nights supervising. One of the kindest people anywhere. CARES deeply about his business and it shows! If you can't finish your meal, they grab it and wrap it up for you. Pho containers are sealed and snug with plastic. SIDENOTE, I lived in a small town in the middle of Vietnam. Loved the food and the people and stayed for years. This is the best Vietnamese food I've had outside of Vietnam, and it reminds me of their work ethic and desire to succeed. Stop in and say hello to Tony and be treated like royalty, Just Go. You...
Read moreBEST PHO IN COLORADO, BY FAR! I am going to start by saying, I am not easily impressed with restaurants in Colorado. I lived in Miami where the food is amazing and flavorful, so it takes a lot to think restaurants deserve this type of praise. I started by ordering the beef and avocado spring roll and the shrimp spring roll. Borge were delicious, but the beef and avocado was my favorite! My family and I then ordered pho. I got the #12 (rare steak, tripe, and flank) with a side of meatballs. And my husband ordered a combination pho. I do appreciate the fact that they have different sizes and have kid sized pho! They are definitely not stingy with their portions, either. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and had a refreshing humor take with the customers. Tony (the owner) came out to greet us to see how everything tasted and how the service was going. Very nice man! He is doing the most and it shows!! Good job Tony! We will be coming back for sure and marking this down as our...
