Which Chinese Restaurant in Denver Has the Best Food?

The Ultimate Guide to Denver’s Best Chinese Food (Part 2) 🍲 Pic 1 & 2: Zeo Ma Ma As Chinese cuisine gains popularity in Denver, more locals are moving beyond classics like orange chicken and beef with broccoli, embracing regional specialties like Shandong-style noodles. Zeo Ma Ma’s unassuming decor might make it easy to miss, but it’s a hidden gem. Their Taiwanese-inspired beef noodle soup, paired with Shandong noodles’ signature chewiness, is a soul-warming delight. Whether it’s a hearty breakfast or a post-work pick-me-up, one bowl will leave you energized. 🍝 Pic 3 & 4: The Bronze Empire This upscale hot pot spot rivals Haidilao with 8 broths (signature spicy, numbing spicy, herbal tonic, seafood, Thai tom yum, tomato collagen, original broth, and organic veggie), 16 dipping sauces, and 56 ingredients. Must-try meats include Kobe-style beef, Angus ribeye, premium lamb shoulder, and top-grade cuts. Their bouncy shrimp and fish pastes are standout—the shrimp paste’s snap feels like live shrimp dancing in your mouth. Pro tip: Try instant noodles in their signature spicy broth for an unforgettable upgrade. 🍛 Pic 5 & 6: Shanghai Kitchen "Wu Li Xiang" (meaning "home") serves nostalgic Shanghainese flavors: soup dumplings, scallion pancakes, stir-fried rice cakes, salted veggie noodle soup, plain noodles, and shrimp-pork wontons. Don’t miss their wine-marinated fish slices, sweet-and-sour ribs, braised pork belly, eel with sizzling oil, or pine nut fish fillet. Bonus: They deliver! 🍗 Pic 7-9: Hong Kong Barbecue TVB drama fans will feel transported to a Hong Kong cha chaan teng—from the decor to the roast meat counter. Their wontons feature delicate "swallow skin" wrappers stuffed with plump shrimp-pork filling, served with springy noodles in rich broth (substitute with rice noodles or pho). Each bite is pure nostalgia. This place is the real deal. You want a taste of Hong Kong cuisine, definitely come here. It'll really make you think that your on the busy side streets of Hong Kong enjoying the foodgasmic Cantonese cuisine. True, the original owners moved to 120th, but these new owners do not disappoint in their preparations of the dishes and food. And to be honest the original owners on 120th have a cut a few corners on their food, thus slightly lowering their quality. Let's also take note that around these pandemic/post-pandemic times, resources are getting scarce, so complaining about their slightly higher prices is unwarranted and mindless.

However, prices are still reasonable. In addition, unlike 120th location, this place does not skimp out on time and effort put into their food. So for lunch, they do have a mini lunch menu with choice of meat and rice options, like BBQ pork and rice or Roast duck with rice, etc. We chose a plate of BBQ pork with Rice. The pork had a nice texture to it along with some fat, but not too much fat. It's accompanied with a some greens as well.

The roast duck was prepared to my dad's liking. The meat wasn't dry and was seasoned just right. You can tell it's a favorite of customers, when there are about 4-5 ppl in line waiting to get their hands on some duck to-go to bring home to their family. I'm not a duck fan, but it was good.

The shrimp wonton noodles, oh baby. One bite of that shrimp wonton,... OMG, the springiness of the first bite, it's like taking a bite of dimsum fried shripm ball, but put into a wonton wrapper. It just has the perfect texture accompanied with wonton noodles and broth.

The winner and star for me was their beef brisket/beef tendon Pot with Rice. The beef brisket and tendon portions were so tender and full of flavor. Each bite has a subtle hint of star anise that is required to enjoy this masterpiece of a dish. Has a few cuts of napa on the bottom as well. Every bite gives one a foodgasmic experience.

The Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs were fried to perfection. Very crispy outer breading, the pork meat succulent. Each piece coated with their sweet and sour sauce. I felt like it was a little on the sweeter side, however, although still good. I would have like to have had a little more vinegar and tartness, but still good. You can actually smell the vinegar caramelized into the sauce. I would and will always come back here. My sisters really enjoyed the...

Food is superb. We ordered and sampled over 10 different dishes and the food brought back taste memories of Hong Kong.

We've returned multiple times with family and friends. This little HK BBQ is worth recommending! This past visit, we also tried their Singapore noodles, crispy pork belly, BBQ pork loin, "water" shrimp dumplings, salt and pepper fried fish, and we loved every morsel of it! Of course, we bought more crispy pork, BBQ pork, roasted duck home in boxes as well, so we can enjoy it for the week and even making our own fried rice.

Another noteworthy dish/snack we tried for the first time was their large wrapped glutinous dumplings that's available inside a small silver chafe dish by thee right side of the wall, near the beverage fridge. Picture included. It was touted to be filled with a lot of interviews such as dry scallops, Chinese sausage, pork belly, fried shrimp, mushroom, nuts, etc. As you can see from the picture, there's a lot in there.

Overall, the only thing I would recommend visitors is to find extra time to park your cars. It's always packed and parking situation and condition aren't the best. I think the businesses sharing the small parking lot ought to fix the parking area. The prices, I think are a little on the high...

Arrived from out-of town and, after seeing the good reviews, went for takeout today at 12:45 pm. At the counter by the hanging meats, one woman taking orders and chopping meat and a man taking care of sit-down customers. The woman was chopping char-siu, so I asked the man if he could take our order. He said yes, and I ordered a whole duck and char-siu for take-out. The woman finished the char-sui and then started on a duck. Three other women came in afterward and talked to her and placed orders. After a while, the woman started on several chicken orders. At about 1:05, I asked about my order and the man said in 3 minutes. At about 1:14 I inquired to both woman and man about my order, as the woman had finished several in-dinning orders and had about 3 chicken take out orders. I was told by both woman and man that they chopped the chicken first. Hey, there was only one chopping block, what difference does it make! I canceled my order (out of decency) and left. What a waste of time! No first come, first served here. Go here for a chance to be abused. BTW I am Chinese but did not speak to the woman or...
