This rating is for my most recent experience. WARNING! You need to understand how BJs prices if you want to get the best deal. On June 5th, 2024, We saw an object in the store that was advertised on sale with a manufacturer's coupon stating that it was good until 6/16/24. And we took a picture of the signage because the item was to be purchased for a non profit and we needed approval.. Today (6/12/24) we went back into the store to purchase said item, knowing we only had until the 16th to do so. When we got there, the item had brand new signage, and while the coupon was still good, the member price had gone up $140.00!!! which made the price $140 more ( over 20% higher) than the sign read a week earlier that was supposed to be good until 6/16. When we questioned it, we were abruptly told that that was the new price and it didn't matter that the original was supposed to be good until 6/16. I believe the woman at the courtesy desk would have given us the item at the lower price, but the rude manager on duty, who would barely look at us, more or less blew us off. My husband then asked for a corporate telephone number. The manager gave him the basic 800 number and watched as he called and got, oh, no surprise, NOT corporate. He asked again for her supervisor's number and was told by the manager that they are NOT ALLOWED to give out. He than asked if she would dial the number for him and she refused. We then learned that the original price was listed with 98 cents at the end, and that apparently at BJs that means the item is on clearance. But get this: when they supposedly got more in, they raised the price because it was no longer " on clearance ". I am not making this up, this is what we were told. None of the signage said prices were subject to change at any time, and they were all dated, even though the manager told us that that was in "the small print " in our general membership. How do you advertise an item on sale and in the middle of the dates change the price???? SO LET THE BUYER BEWARE. I find this practice deceitful. We personally have been members of BJs since the Deptford store opened. Unfortunately, because of the rudeness of the manager, and the way she spoke to us, BJs has lost a new corporate account. Our corporation can spend their money anywhere, and we would rather spend it where we are treated honestly. And as for fine print: our shopping preferences are subject to change without notice .
UPDATE: after actually contacting corporate, and being told this should NEVER have happened to us, the situation was corrected and we...
Read moreI wanted to give one star but ended up giving two stars because the guy James at the front was very friendly. However, the other staff I’ve interacted with has always very short with me even though I was always kind to them. There was this one older gentleman that was giving out cherry tomato samples. I couldn’t catch his name pretty sure he didn’t have name tag on. He had a cart behind him. That was empty. I asked if I could use it. He rolled his eyes and said “I guess” I didn’t think much of it however, when I was in the self checking out line, he walked past me and talked to another one of his coworkers and said “I had a customer steal my cart”. And the lady he said it to was like “of course they would do that”. I don’t think he realized. I was checking out right next to him when he said that. The tone that all the employees have there is just rude, he could’ve said no if he didn’t want to give me the cart , if he had explained that he was using it for something I would’ve said OK I really wouldn’t have mind at all. I also went there about three weeks ago and I used the main checkout line. The older cashier lady was also very rude the whole time I was trying to check out she was talking to her coworker next to her saying that she wanted to leave, complaining that she didn’t want to be there and then when she scanned one of my items I noticed it was overpriced when I had grabbed it it said $19.99 and it was ringing up for $39.99. I explain to her that it must’ve been miss labeled I’ve worked in retail before when that happens, you usually honor the price I would’ve taken a picture of the tag for her and everything, but I couldn’t even get a chance to. She had already called over the manager and asked him to rescan it and he said Yep it’s ring up as $39.99 and they didn’t even let me get a word in before she was taking it out of my cart , once she finished up with me, she left for the day. I guess she got what she wanted. James at the front is the only person that I’ve interacted with that has been kind and seems like he wanted...
Read moreWent down hill ,I just came back from shopping there what an experience unbelievable. Some of the employees don’t have a care in the world just putting in time . I just filled up my shopping cart and then went to the Deli. To pick up a rotisserie chicken. This is at 340 pm 9/29/25 I approached the deli counter and asked a worker if the chicken was almost done. He went over and looked at the oven and shed 20 more minutes, so I sat down and waited. This employee went home a few moments later and New one came and took his place now at 20 after the oven stopped and a yellow bright light was flashing. I went over to the new person and told them that the oven was done and the chickens were ready. Meanwhile, there is a line starting to wrap around the area where the rotisserie chickens should be but the rack was empty. Finally about 20 about 10 minutes later a person came and stopped it. He opened it and took the temperature of the chickens and then set it for another 15 minutes meanwhile it is 4:45 PM. I went over to look at them they were dark brown ,Still no chickens for people’s dinners. The lines were growing larger and larger. Finally, they start leaving. They said they’ll go somewhere else to buy the chicken. I left the deli at 445 pm I didn’t need this chicken that bad after I paid my bill I went to customer service and I said I wanted to speak to the manager, they looked at me like I had two heads. They didn’t say nothing. I waited there 10 minutes, and I took my full cart of merchandise and left. I will never go to the store again and as a guide on this site, I will state my opinion for the 2 million people that listen to me and have my opinion and this opinion is that I will never...
