Forman Mills — Local services in Deptford Township

I felt racially profiled as a black woman. I entered the store around 1:19 pm. I initially went in with my items that I intended to exchange and shopped around for new items to purchase. About 30 minutes later I was approached by a Hispanic man which I believe is the security guard named Nelson who reeked of cigarettes. He said did I need help I responded no. He said it was against store policy to walk around with a bag I fully complied and he gave me a number. I understand this policy that is not my issue. I waited in line with my new items to exchange for my old items for an extended time period. Apparently you can only exchange in certain lines so I had to wait to be seen. A Hispanic family in front of me who was not being seen at the moment had their old items with them to return as well and when I asked the guard to give me my old items in the bag he said it wasn’t my turn yet. When I pointed out I see the Hispanic family with their return items and if the rule only applies to me because I’m black he said no. He said no and handed me my items that I was going to return. I honestly wanted to get my money back after this experience. The cashier who was lovely informed me I couldn’t. I haven’t shopped at Forman Mills since I was a child and will never return. As a black woman it is disheartening to experience micro aggressions...

Everyone was so helpful in the store trying to help me find what I needed and when I cashed out they were very nice very very nice and we have purchased a large purchased and we were just so happy with the items that we have bought thank you so much for being there we love the store we went to other stores(Forman Mills) but we prefer the one in Deptford but everyone is just amazing everyone so helpful thank you so much for having your store there for customers like us who enjoy the shopping experience and enjoy the clothing that you give for us to purchase very nice store we have watch the Undercover Boss experience of the Forman Mills store how it got started and we are just so excited about the experience that we get from shopping at your store thank you so much again for allowing us to be a part of your Forman Mills...

This place has great prices on clothing. The clothes they sell are not very conservative, but the last dress I brought was $2.50 And I sewed it up where it was revealing and turned it into a conservative dress. Also,they have great employees. They are friendly and are eager to help customers and improve their experience while they are at the store. Lastly this is a kids friendly place with a public restroom. This place is handicapped accessible and is and enjoyable place with clothes for all people and all ages and some side accessories such as jewelry, shoes,...
