Derby Donut — Restaurant in Derby

I don't like giving poor reviews but the donuts I got we're disgusting. They were lacking in almost everything. The dough was heavy, I could barely even taste chocolate in the icing which was thin and poorly applied. The cinnamon roll I got wasn't any better if not worse because the only real bit of cinnamon was a gooey weird center. I after the few donuts I tried I was honestly wishing I had gone to QT to get some instead. Wow! I’ve been wanting to try their gluten free donuts for awhile but couldn’t seem to make it in on a Monday or Tuesday. I finally made it in today (ironically on a Monday), but they have gluten free every day now (woo!!). The GF maple donut brought tears to my eyes! I haven’t had such a good donut since I had to cut gluten out. Absolutely DIVINE! Thanks, Derby Donut for filling a very big need in the community and doing it soooo well! I've been out of the country for a few years and returning home I asked a friend where I could get a good American donut and he recommended, family owned, Derby Donut. I was greeted at the door and the staff was friendly and made sure I was taken care of. I saw there was one last lemon donut and I snagged it quick.
