Derby Public Library — Attraction in Derby

We lived in JoCo for 7 years and this library reminds me of our beloved libraries there. The hold (no extra charges!) and renewal system online is easy and nice. The kid play areas and opportunities are wonderful. My kids love coming here! I enjoy coming here. Also, no need for Redbox or Amazon rentals - they have an awesome new-release DVD selection! They also have an amazing selection of kid board games. They are clean and well taken care of. Every library should emulate JoCo and Derby libraries in my opinion! :) I'm sharing this review in hopes that it helps someone discover a local GEM close by them! The superb library of Derby, off of Rock Road and just west on Walnut. A beautiful building, inside and out, with a knowledgeable and helpful group of workers that make up a great setting for the public. Many employees are certified notaries which has helped me out multiple times and without charge. There is a computer room for members and guests to use where I’ve printed many color pages with ease. The copy machine will scan documents to your email for no charge along with there being many other resources to use here that are valuable yet inexpensive. Not crowded at all. I saw some oil painting clases in another room. I have to check that out. Also saw some outside seating areas as well as lobby benches. I assume the wifi reaches those areas which is great. Some kids were using these spaces to access wifi and do a little gaming while allowing some social distance. (NICE). The staff wore masks and provided masks and sanitizer. Partitions were set up to protect staff and customers. The staff did an incredible job of assisting the customers while maintaining distance.
