I bought a Stijl chainsaw brand new in May from Northern Tool. After one tank of gas the BAR FELL OFF WHILE IN USE!?! Fortunately the chain did not injure me but it was very dangerous and could have caused severe injury. Needless to say I was let down so I took it to my local Stihl dealership in Anthony and was informed the issue was on Northern Tool and they would not warranty the work or lost nut. Taking it back two hours away to the Northern Tool in Wichita just didn’t happen, pretty far away.
Altogether it got put on the back burner for months until just now I took it to Ace in Derby while in town again expecting to have to bite the bullet and pay for service on it or be given the runaround again. Instead they TOTALLY RECTIFIED THE MISTAKES MADE BY NORTHERN TOOL which I found out included both ASSEMBLING SO POORLY IT WAS A HAZARD TO MY HEALTH as well as FAILING TO REGISTER IT! Yes Northern tool really dropped the ball.
Fortunately the manager at Ace in Derby straightened everything out above and beyond their company’s obligation to fix the mistakes of Northern Tool and now I have a safely assembled chain saw with a full warranty as well as true knowledge of how to maintain and adjust it. Thanks Ace, beware Northern Tool is not a good place...
Read moreThis is the best Ace Hardware I've ever been to. There is immediate engagement by employees from the moment you walk in. They go out of their way to help you with whatever it is that you need and are kind and professional throughout. "Sir" and "ma'am" aren't things you hear much of more in the retail context, but that's all you'll get here, and with a smile. They even opened the store back up one evening right at closing to facilitate a transaction when one of my family members needed a can of paint. That is uncommon service and I will go out of my way to give this store my business. You may pay a tad more than you would at Home Depot or Lowes, but their service and knowledge at this Ace far outstrips...
Read moreRarely have interaction bc I usually know what I want. Bought a Stihl chainsaw, used it for 5 minutes, pulled the string out of the starter. Took it back, they were VERY accommodating. Chuck worked on the stupid thing for at least an hour. Let me hang out to watch, and I was way more frustrated for him than he was for himself! That man has some patience! They got me fixed up and back on my way. I frequent this store for small purchases all the time. Today showed me there are still quality places to deal with when you have a real issue. Thanks for...
