Mc Donald's is one of the last places we would usually go to eat. But tonight was an exception. I have to say I'm 40 years old and I don't recall ever having a waitress or any other resteraunt employee Impress me as much as a young lady has tonight. Beyond being so beautifully genuine and personable this young woman showed a kind of integrity that I am so grateful my two young girls were able to witness. The first time we pulled into the parking lot I saw this girl dealing with frustrated customers waiting for their food in a way that right away got my attention she was calm and courteous she stood out even then just noticing her while I was driving through the parking lot we wound up leaving but later coming back she was working the window where they take the money I had recognized her from earlier and I was very taken by the way she was so easily able to interact with us in the best way I'm able to describe is genuine, for some reason I just started to tell her about my evening and how we had just purchased a phone from a lady off of the computer website letgo and how I thought it was quite shady and it hadn't worked out the way we thought and we somehow managed to start talking about it and she offered to help us when she she got off of her shift which was just moments away. Already many uncommon attributes so of course we went in and once again was extremely impressed with this girl I call her an anomaly and it's not even just because of her personality it was her integrity it was who she was. She stayed for quite some time helping us, in the end I tried to offer her money which she more than deserved but she refused I even tried to have her take it to give to someone else she might know who could use it and she looked at me and said I'm going to give it to you as she walked away I was asking her for her name and wasn't able to follow her but as we turned to leave on the wall was a plaque with her picture and name Brianna Hughes employee of the month!!! The Derby Kansas McDonald's off of K15 you are very blessed two have such a wonderful individual work for you. I can't say that I'm crazy about McDonald's food in any way but I would definitely go out of my way and order a salad or some fries just to see and visit with her again. I'm not sure if you guys offer any special rewards to your exceptional employees but I request that she has but the highest of any reward that you might offer I truly think that she is the best thing to happen to McDonald's since the Happy...
Read moreI'd like to start by saying that my relationship with this mcdonalds is exactly like a woman in an abusive relationship. No matter how badly things are with them I still keep going back. Hoping that maybe they changed and they'll be better for me. Alas they do not and I must finally call it quits with the Mcdonalds in Derby KS. Where should I begin, I guess I'll begin by saying that i have never once had my food handed to me at the drive through window. I have always been told to pull forward to a reserve spot. If this happens to you I urge you to hold your ground and stay at the window. I say this because this is one of the tactics they use to keep you from seeing your messed up food order (which happens everytime) and then being able to get someone right away in a window to replace it. Now you will have to follow me a little bit, and you may think this is crazy conspiracy but just go experience it for yourself. First they're friendly through the speaker and get it all correct on your screen, next you pull to the window where you pay. You see the smiling face of the employee as they take your money and make you feel good about what you are about to indulge in. Then you pull to the next window awaiting the delicious treat you are about to devour. This is when it turns to the twisted horror movie you have nightmares about to this day. Some stories I have about this particular time at this particular Mcdonalds include but are not limited to, wrong orders given to me, waiting between 15 to 20 minutes to have your food delivered to your vehicle (cause you'll never get it at the actual window). In some instances I had to go into the store after 20 minutes and retrieve my order which had been sitting and got cold. I once ordered a large meal and received a regular fry, when I said it was supposed to be large I kid you not the guy grabbed a large container and dumped the regular fry into it and handed it back to me. I recommend ordering things you don't want really so when they mess up your order (which will inevitably happen) you may get the actual thing you want. If there is one thing you can count on with this Mcdonalds it's that they will screw up anything you...
Read moreNormally, I'm not going to review a giant like MacDonalds, but since Google reviews are specific to locations, I'll keep this updated as I visit. While normally my visits to the Derby K15 location is uneventful, this weekend was the exception. I always order the same thing on the weekend; #4 Breakfast with and Orange Juice - a Sausage Egg Biscuit meal. Let's ignore for the moment the fact that the price has skyrocketed in the past few years. The woman that often works the first window is outstanding, The second window.... Well that's a bit of a crapshoot, lol. This weekend, the young man that opened the window asked, "Sausage Egg Biscuit with cheese and a medium orange juice?" To which I replied, it should just be a regular sausage egg biscuit - no cheese. He stammered, "oh yeah, no cheese." I reinforced, "You said initially with cheese - if there is cheese on it, that wrong." He quipped, "No, I never said cheese, this is right!" ..... Of course as I drive away from the window I checked the sandwich and low and behold.... There is cheese on it. I never understand how this happens. Regardless of the McDonald's, about 20% of the time I receive cheese on my regular sausage and egg biscuit. I digress. The young lady at the inside counter was very helpful and very pleasant. I don't make a fuss about the mistake because ultimately I just want my breakfast. My main point here is this. The drive through window at fast food restaurants are now the heart of the product delivery. I suspect the overwhelming majority of business is conducted this way now compared to the near vacant lobbies. Getting the order right is perhaps the primary responsibility of the staff next to provide quality food. The Window person should be the Top Quality control agent in this endeavor. Select team members that are up to the task. Not someone that given the opportunity to get it right, argues with the customer.... and still...
