I read an article on this place about thier grand opening and I must admit this place did not meet my expectations in the end.
I looked at thier menu ahead of time and saw they had menudo on Saturday and Sunday so my family and I headed over for dinner. Their menu was limited and the first thing they said “since they just opened some menu items they did not have.” I asked about Menudo and they said “tommorow.” Disappointed, but I moved on to try something else. I was going to get the enchiladas for my kids and then they said they didn’t have that from the menu either. That’s two items missing from thier limited menu.
My kids ended up having the quesadilla fritas and they seemed to enjoy it. My kids liked the rice so we got a 2nd side serving. My wife had the capechana and she was not enjoying it. My mother-in-law tried several tacos with different meats and she enjoyed it. Myself, I had the cardne asada plate that I asked for medium rare but it was more on the rare side. I ate it cause I was hungry. The side rice was good. The refried beans tasted like it had been out for a while not fresh. They had thier own orange hot sauce which was pretty good and on the slightly spicy side. I like spicy.
Overall, mixed reviews. If it’s a grand opening then you should have everything on you already limited menu and not use that as an excuse for not having it. The service was good and mostly attentive. I wish they had the menudo as that was the sole reason I wanted to try this place. I’m Mexican who grew up in LA so I love menudo and grew up eating Mexican daily. Some stuff was okay and other things could use some work.
Maybe I’ll give this place another try in the future when they are...

Walking into Eddy & Enedina’s shop is stepping into the heart of true Mexican hospitality. From the very first moment, I felt the warmth of a family-run business that cares more about people than profit. This is not some chain or franchise — this is authenticity, love, and tradition poured into every detail.
I came in needing something simple — just water — and without hesitation they passed the ultimate test of kindness. No upsell, no hesitation, just generosity and respect that money can’t buy. In today’s world, that alone deserves 5 stars… but here, everything goes far beyond.
The atmosphere reflects their heritage and pride, the flavors are a celebration of Mexico itself, and the way they treat you makes you feel less like a customer and more like family. Eddy & Enedina are the kind of owners that put soul into their work, and it shows in every interaction, every bite, every sip.
This isn’t just food — this is culture, passion, and humanity wrapped together. Michelin or not, this place is worthy of recognition at the highest level. If kindness, authenticity, and unforgettable service matter to you, then this little gem deserves not 5, not 10, but a full 20 out of 5 stars.
Eddy & Enedina, gracias por todo — you set the standard. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Read moreLoved this place. I am from where they make real Mexican food (here most places don't do it right). This place has the most authentic Mexican I have found in DC area. Had enchiladas that were not salted to death.. they were perfectly seasoned, chicken was very moist, and green sauce was just right. Rice is without par in DC metro area, and it is made the Mexican way! Beans are good (would be perfect if not pureed but rather mashed up after boiling the beans). Also had carne asada and the cook made it pink like I asked. They don't do flour tortillas, but their homemade corn tortillas were very yummy and somehat filling by themselves. You can stop here for lunch after you get your car smog checked at MVA facility blocks away, and you could walk to it in less than five minutes from Shady Grove Metro. Interior isn't anything fancy, but it's clean, bathrooms too. After no good Mexican food in the DC area for my adult life, I don't care what a place looks like as long as they can cook like my Grandmother...
