McDonald's — Restaurant in Des Moines

They do not deserve a 1 star rating that I gave them, it is more like no stars at all .

The restrooms smell repugnant and disgusting and are not maintained properly, the lobby is usually trashed out with dirty tables with trash and food on the floor.

They allow people to smoke pott in the mens bathroom and not get fired, they do not keep their grills cleaned up as often as they should and continue to cook with them being filthy and greasy as well as the utensils are not kept up either.

This place ought to be permanently closed down for being such a health hazzard to the general public.

UPDATED... Since my last overveiw of this restaurant. I had the misfortune to visit here since December of 2018.

In the spring of 2019, the owners had the store remodeled which mainly consisted of changing the dining area and bathrooms and excluded any of the kitchen area all together.

There are a few new employees there now which is a definite positive change.

But what has not changed is the greasy food that was drenched in grease.

I ordered a signature sandwich known as the bacon bbq smokehouse which has the new freshly cooked quarter beef.

I asked for (2) quarter beef patties on the sandwich which came in a medium meal.

This was delivered to my table as they serve food now instead of the old way of waiting at the counter for you to carry off.

I was served promptly and the young lady was very polite and top on her job.

My issue still is with this poorly trained and managed cooking crew at this store.

What part of hold the grease did they not understand???

The box was 1/4 to nearly half full of beef fat or grease from not just the beef pattie but as well as off the flat grill in the back.

Which is pretty easy to determine as it was dark black or dirty used beef fat that was not cleared off of the grill for quite a while.

This was around 2:30 pm and when asked for assistance to replace this sandwich for a decently cooked one, I was told that was normal and the male employee said he doubted that it would be replaced, but he did ask anyways for me.

I was refused for a replacement as well. To me.

They did not improve much more than a decent and incomplete remodeling job to just slap a happy face on such a greasy spoon with little improvement in customer satisfaction and they need much better cooks that know what they are doing in the kitchen.

And a whole new management team to better delegate their crews to improve...

Don’t go there, that’s not the first situation of this kind. I ordered the hot n spicy chicken, but without lettuce and mayo, instead i got 2 slices of american cheese, ketchup and 2 slices of bacon. My friends and I waited for our order around 15 minutes, and we didn’t get our drinks. The food was cold, and orders were mixed up and uncompleted. I didn’t get ketchup, neither the cheese, so I asked nicely what can we do about it. The young woman didn’t even pay attention to me for 5 minutes, and after that just answered “sorry girl, we are busy there” (pointing on drive thru) and leave me. Then I repeated myself that they didn’t give me my order and they didn’t know what to do, I suggested that I can get another burger and pay for a normal version without any additions, and young lady finally asked me for my receipt. Then some more experienced woman just screamed to the guy in a kitchen to prepare mc chicken and 2 minutes later i got another one. This one finally got 1 SLICE of cheese, but still no ketchup, no bacon, but my unwanted lettuce and mayo. Summing up, I got 2 sandwiches and neither of them were prepared properly. After waiting another 10 min we needed to go to the counter and ask for our drinks. The woman said that “yeah, okay” but afterwards we still didn’t get drinks. We went 5 times more before we actually got our drinks - shake, fanta and sweet tea. My friend instead of chocolate shake, got mint chocolate shake. My other friend got uncooked meat in his sandwich. That’s a joke. Some of those people don’t know what they’re doing, the young lady talking to me was really rude and I swear she just saw me as stupid kid (I’m 17, I look like 13) that is...

I just don't get it. This is easiest job on the face of the earth, that requires no thinking or physical demands. Yet I haven't spent a penny at any McDonald's in 8 years because nobody that works at any location is able to get an order correct. Also, the prices are so absolutely outrageously expensive so they can pay these degenerates $15/hr, people who, again, can't handle the easiest job on the planet. Remember them out protesting a few years ago? Demanding to be paid $15/hr. I thought maybe if they got paid more, they might actually do their jobs the correct way. After returning after 8 years, I now see paying them that much has done nothing. I ordered 2 bacon mcgriddles with no cheese. For some reason they charged me $3.58 just for the bacon (which should be part of the sandwich price already). So I was already stunned when I saw the receipt and noticed how much they charged me for that bacon, the whole price I paid almost $11 for 2 sandwiches. I could eat a whole Chinese buffet for that price. Then the best part, I get home to see that they decided to not give me an egg on either sandwich. Seriously, I just paid $11 for 2 mcGriddles that only had one piece of bacon cut in half on each one. Pathetic. And I will not call, I won't go back asking for money back cause it does no good. I will seriously, never, ever spend money at any McDonald's again. Sorry McDonald's CEO, but you can't seem to hire anyone who has any brain at all. Seriously pathetic. No wonder why they're starting to close...
