My wife and I decided to head down town for a quick bite and just to spend some time out and about. We decided on stopping at Ted's coney island as they have great gyros. Today I decided to step away for my normal and I got the tenderloin basket and my wife still got her usual gyro basket. This place is usually very quick to order and quick to get your food. Today was no exception to that. After getting our drinks and sitting down it was almost right away that we got our food. My wife loves there gyro, fries and onion rings usually I end up eating he Cole slaw. The gyro has a good mix of feta cheese and tiziki sauce. The gyro meat is very tender and has really good flavor. The fries are always crispy and fresh. The onion rings have a nice light batter and are also very fresh. This being the first time I had the tenderloin I wasn't sure what to expect. I was honestly very surprised it was actually a goood tenderloin. I'm usually king of picket when it comes to my idea of a good tenderloin. This passed my test nicely. The breading wasn't to thick. The tenderloin was cooked just right. All in all it was a good tenderloin. I love the Cole slaw as well. It has a good mayo to vinegar ratio. I usually eat mine and my wife's slaw. This was yet another great trip to Ted's coney island. I'm sure we will be back for more gyros and to try more things...
Read moreWent through the drive through, spent $29 on a tenderloin, large onion ring, and a gyro basket, no drinks. They forgot to put in my gyro, so I called them and they said they would "remake it" for me when I got back.
Went back to the store 10 min later, and my food had clearly been sitting out for a while. Shocker - all the food was cold when I got back home. Food was pretty mediocre, once I had reheated everything.
While I as at the store, I asked them why I got charged on my credit card for $32 when my bill was $29. Apparently they charge 3.5% if you use your credit card and they have the tiniest sticker that says that in the corner of the window that you literally can't see when it's dark out.
Um, yall own two successful restaurants. It's one thing for the small vendor at the farmers market to charge a fee for credit card usage, for you guys, that's insane. Not to mention kinda messed up that the receipt doesn't even show it, so I'll go ahead and deal with it through my CC company.
We will literally just go to Sonic for cheaper, and the same quality food...
Read moreWife and I decided to try something new to eat in DSM. Went to tripadvisor and started looking at all the restaurant reviews. Settled on Ted’s. Everything is average at this place. We went about 5PM on a weeknight and we were the only customers. The lady was nice enough, so service gets 5 stars. After reading some reviews we ordered a piece of baklava $1.25, 1 Coney, and 2 Gyros Platters (one with FETA and one without) and a mountain dew. Total without tip was $23.90. Of course we could not eat it all. If I were to go back I would just get the Gyros. They were very good and I was surprised for DSM. The meat was shaven and not cubed and there was plenty to fill you up with the pita bread. The coney was just a coney. The onion rings were not tasty at all and the fries (both come with Platters) were just fries. I have eaten all over the world and had real Gyros… This was real close! If you go, Go for the GYROS. Thanks...
