Taziki's Mediteranean Cafe - Des Peres — Restaurant in Des Peres

We tried this out for the first time earlier in the week. It was lunch time on a weekday and the place was relatively full, but we did still manage to get a table. It took a while for the gyros to come out, but I have to say they were really good. We don’t eat that much meat because of the high cost so having the delicious beef Gyro and chicken Gyro Was really a bit of a treat. The service was friendly and our price was reasonable. I think we paid like just over 20 bucks for two gyros and we just got a water from the drink dispenser. The portions were good. The gyros were attractive and they really tasted good so I’ll be up to come back here again During the weekday. I’m not sure how crowded be on the weekend probably overcrowded. It’s very Greek themed in terms of food. I didn’t know, though if you kept adding this and that your price could skyrocket for greater than $40 just for two people which is kind of too much for lunchbut like I said we had an excellent filling meal for just over 20 bucks around $25 for two people, but just...

Updating my review from 2 weeks ago. Came on a Monday afternoon around 2:30p. Friendly service taking our order. Food was a little slow coming out - but was obviously fresh. Hummus, salad and gyro all very good and tasty. Will try again, but will be sensitive about when I show up.

Original Post - Disappointed - I wasn’t impressed… in fact I walked out without even ordering… Clearly they are not ready for the volume of an early Friday evening. I stood in a long, non-moving line of people waiting to order. Also a lot of people waiting for their food, both at tables and in another line. Also, several of the tables had not been cleared from others that had been fortunate to get through the gauntlet. Finally decided to take my business elsewhere. Absolutely blown away by the new Mediterranean spot on Manchester—this place is exactly what Des Peres needed! The food was out-of-this-world delicious—fresh, flavorful, and made with so much love. Every bite was perfection.

I also want to give a special shoutout to (what I assume was) the manager—though I didn’t catch his name, his bright smile and welcoming energy lit up the whole place. He made sure every guest felt taken care of and added such a warm touch to the experience.
