We went to experience the springs in the resort and it was a very relaxing experience.
afterwards we went to have lunch at the Capri restaurant. the restaurant was understaffed , and we were asked by the hostess to sit anywhere of our like and that the server would be with us soon. a few minutes later, the same hostess brought us menus.
we waited a good 15/20 minutes for a waitress to come to our area , just to see her heading to take the order of guests in another table, who had arrived after we did- I know because we decided between the two tables, and that particular one was empty when we sat. after taking their orders , the waitress spoke to us while rapidly walking away from us and stated:" you guys have already been helped , yes? " , and we replied that we had not been helped as of yet. she looked dissapointed as if she was too busy to take our order, however she then approached our table for the order. my nephew told her what he wanted and I asked for the rib eye steak. the waitress did not ask how I wanted it cooked and I had to ask her to note how I wanted it and the sides. she went on to walk away from the table and I then asked her to place the order for our drinks to what she replied with an attitude quote: " ma'am, we have a house full and we are very busy, you will need to be patient, I will bring you some water and come back for the drink order"- she did not even asked if we actually wanted the water.
a few minutes later, water was brought to our table, which we did not ask for, and then about another 10 minutes later the waitress came to take our drink order of simple coke and ice tea.
we waited another 15/20 minutes for the food to arrive , and she brought in our calamari order without the sauce, and when I asked for it , she said: oh, you want it? we only have marinara sauce. then she brought it.
after the food arrived and the drinks, we were basically left on our own and there was no asking how things were and if we needed anything else. the waitress stopped to check on an adjacent table to us and she was laughing with the guests there, however we felt invisible as my nephew was trying to call her for a refill of his coke- he had his glass empty for a good 15 minutes trying to get a refills- however she would slide past our table without a single glance to ask if we needed something. when we were all done, my nephew finally got her attention for a refill since he was thirsty. in summary, the service is not good, not to say the least . if you go there, please be prepared to have a long wait, bad service that comes along with an attitude, and, dont you dare to ask to place your drink order: be content with the water, because the house is full, and they are busy. you need...
Read moreMy husband and I are celebrating our 14th year anniversary. We decided to come for some Italian. The restaurant was completely empty. An elderly couple came in a couple of minutes after us. They were looking around just like my husband and I.
My husband decided to call to see if the restaurant was opened and the service hosts right came out. The host told us we could sit anywhere, and we did.
I had to calm my husband because he saw right away that the other couple's orders were taken. You would think the other couple would acknowledge that we came in first and called for someone to come out. But they didn't. I told my husband to just let it go because out of respect, they were elderly.
At this time, my husband started the timer on his phone because he's used to discrimination, being looked over, or just not being catered to.
The waitress brought us water and asked if we wanted something else to drink, and we asked that she would allow us a few minutes to look over the menu, and she walked away. Another couple came in. The waitress asked if they wanted drinks. A few minutes later, she delivered their drinks and took their order.
Meanwhile, my husband and I are still waiting for her to return to us. We waited about a good 15 mins before she came back to us and asked if we were ready to order. She may not have been aware of what was happening. But my husband politely described our experience to her, bringing attention to what just happened. She was apologetic, and we appreciate that. But we decided to leave the restaurant.
My husband felt led to inform the front desk of the hotel. One of the receptionists didn't even look up. But the one who listened, she offered to pay for our meal, and we graciously declined. Although we appreciate the offer, it's the principle behind it all.
People who work in places that require customer service should always be ready, attentive, and aware of the customers and to effectively meet the needs of people who are willing to spend their money for the service.
We hope the restaurant staff will learn appropriate customer etiquette/effective skills to understand, respond appropriately, and provide better customer...
Read moreMy husband and I were recommended the Miracle Springs hotel and this specific restaurant, so we booked a few nights and decided to eat at this highly recommended establishment.
We walk in and stand to wait to be seated. 10 minutes pass, and we were not greeted at all. The blonde waitress and the young busboy saw us, but no "hello, we'll be right with you" or anything. In fact, they made eye contact and purposely chose not to say anything. We went to the front desk for the hotel to ask if we were standing on the right spot. We were, so they called, I guess the manager (?) Who apologized and gave us some fun facts about the food, the hot springs, the pools, et cetera.
Our waiter was Eric and after he sat us down, he asked if we wanted anything. My husband said no but when I said "actually we would love the fried ravioli to start" he rolled his eyes. Okay. Maybe it was unintentional. But after we were treated like the plague by everyone during our entire meal, it's hard to think it was.
The meal was fine, definitely worth the pricing (or even a little more if it wasnt flash cooked. The plates were suspiciously hot to the touch indicating flash cooking though), but the service was terrible and made it just not worth it. They do not refill waters (they're conserving water and I appreciate that), but noone asked how the food was, if we wanted a refill on our non-water drinks, and the other waiters kept staring at us angrily for telling the manager (I presume). Eric specifically forgot about us and we had to flag the blonde waitress (who was making a point not to make eye contact with us) to let them know we wanted to pay for our check. The restaurant isn't big enough to have such disorganization and lack of zoning. There were more than enough people on staff to ensure everyone had a good enough experience and there just isn't a good enough excuse for the lack of basic service.
We were slighted and then forgotten about or ignored. We won't be coming back for food for the rest of our stay, unfortunately. And that's a shame. Service is everything. Lackluster food and good service is 3 stars, bad service...
