What a gem! My husband and I had breakfast here while driving through from Wisconsin to Texas. The food was AMAZING! So rich and flavorful! I had an English muffin split in half with an egg on top of each half. My husband had an omelet. Both were so rich and flavorful! The cook did not skimp on the butter l and which made the flavor and richness all the more! It makes sense because this area was settled by the French who are known for their rich foods and heavy use of butter.
My husband complimented the chef and our waitress said she has been cooking there for 30 years! Our waitress was wonderful. Very attentive and kind. She kept our coffee cups full the entire meal and made sure we had everything we needed.
The atmosphere was quiet and calm. A little crowded between seats but cozy and comfortable. Kind of like the old fashioned restaurants. A classic small town restaurant....
Read moreAs always, good food and great service. My momma and I ate here for breakfast the other morning, while I was in town. I got the western omelette, it was so delicious. Very cheese, and the veggies and meat were cooked well. The home fries were nice and soft on the inside. And super crispy on the outside. Seasoned well. And not very greasy. The toast was cooked right. Not too light and not super dark. Just enough to where it was still spongey , but ya got the... Crispy crunch biting into it. And beautifully golden. The coffee was really good too. Which let's face it... It is the most important part of breakfast (lol) The server was a sweetheart. She checked on us a lot. And made sure we had what we wanted and wasn't scared to check on us " too much" she was wonderful. Definitely recommend eating here of you're ever in Deslodge and want a cheap, GOOD,...
Read moreWe were there for lunch. Our food was good enough, but our waitress & her "service" were not. Waitress was NOT overly busy (only 3 or 4 tables?), but she was slow getting to us. Order was taken, order was put in, and food was brought to us fairly quickly, but after that, waitress never returned. She didn't bother checking with us to see how our food was, nor refill our drinks, nor bring us our bill. We finally gave up waiting for her, walked to the person at the register, asked for our bill - and our waitress was two steps away, telling the cashier, "Oh, that was mine." (Note: This place claims "home cooked" but my dinner roll was a single roll of the kinds commonly sold in packages of a dozen or so. Ok, but disappointing.) Not sure if we'll return. Our local Huddle...
