I found this place as I was looking for places to dine in. My cousin mentioned this black owned restaurant, so we decided to stop. Once there, it was fairly crowded, but we were seated around 10-15 minutes later. The greeters and people who sat us were very kind, so I thought this was going to be a good experience. There were two tables in front of us around 15 people for a birthday party, fine said happy birthday to the birthday girl, and waited patiently for our waitress. After another 15 minutes, waitress finally came. Gave us water and asked if we wanted any drinks. My cousin ordered a blue lemon drop. Waitress brought her back a pink drink. Ok, mistakes happen my cousin said this isn’t the drink I ordered and asked if it could be remove from her bill and we’ll just ordered our food. We had a full blown conversation with this waitress over the menu, what she recommended. So we ordered the spinach and chips dip, lobster bites/Cajuns fries, naked wings with parmesan rosemary fries (the waitress recommendation) . Fast forward, spinach dip comes out, dip was really good and the homemade chips were good as well. However had to wait another 5–10 minutes for plates. Finally got the plates, now looking forward to the rest of the food. 30 minutes go by, now the party of 15 is now increasing and their drinks are increasing as well. So now they are extremely loud, twerking and disturbing the customers, still decided to wait for our food. No waitress, however people at the party table food continues to consistently come out. Their waitress was great. Ok, our waitress finally comes back after about another 15-20 minutes, with a bill for just the spinach dip, drops it on the table and leaves really fast. Another 10 mins go by, she finally come to the table and we ask how much longer on our food. Her response, “ what food, y’all ordered food?”She forgot to put our order in after almost an hour or so of us waiting. We pay for the spinach dip, and talk to the people at the front. They said sorry and that was basically it. Didn’t offer to give us our food that we did order or refund the money I paid for the dip. As we were about to leave, we were asked if we wanted a drink on the house, after we just spent over an hour waiting for food we never received around a loud birthday party. I always try to frequent black owned businesses as much as possible, however the customer service here was everything short of horrible. I really hope you guys take this review into consideration next time a problem like...
Read moreWorst customer service I've ever received in my life. I went there last Saturday for a birthday gathering. On their menu they have Lamb bites, which I was really excited to try. Turns out it's not real Lamb. They looked like a sausage cut up and grilled but tasted like meatballs. I call my waiter over and say to him "these are not Lamb bites, they taste like meatballs". His response was "I told them ppl would say that. I'll go grab a manager for you". One manager comes over and ask if there was a complaint with the food. I told him that I didn't like the Lamb bites, they taste like meatballs. He asked if he could get me something else. I requested steak bites in place of the Lamb. He says "ok, I can get those for you but I'm still going to have to charge you half for these since you started eating them". I can't make this up lol. So I ask "why would you offer me something else if I still have to pay for those even though I'm not happy with them". He goes to grab another manager. The lady comes over, with attitude, and ask "is there an issue?" I told her that I didn't like to Lamb bites because they taste like meatballs. Me: "I was expecting Lamb bites, which I assumed would be similar to steak bites". She said "well they are meatballs, your waiter should've explained that to you". Me: "No your menu should've explained that to me. However, I'm not satisfied. Are you able to remove it from my bill or get me the steak bites that the first manager offered?" She says "I can take these from your table but we're still going to charge you half for these because you already ate some". Me: But I don't feel that I should have to pay for something that was falsely advertised and I don't like". Her: "well were going to charge you half them". Me: "well I'm not paying for them". I never raised my voice, cursed, or gave her any attitude in return. She walks away. The waiter comes back with my bill and the bites are removed. I figured our negotiation went well! So I ask can I now placed my order for steak bites. The waiter tells me that he had been ordered not to serve me anymore! But why, I didn't do anything wrong. She was upset because I didn't like the food? I was floored. I'm not expecting to be compensated for my experience but they do need to learn proper customer service. I'm an amazing customer when I patronize an establishment and they...
Read moreGood Times was NOT a good time🤦🏽♀️ Very disappointing.
This was our 1st time coming here. Our schedules are so hectic I really have to plan out our family outings. I had around 6 other brunch places I wanted us to experience and clearly I picked the wrong one.
Our waitress was super nice and it definitely wasn’t her fault our food didn’t meet our expectations. Ask for Bri if you ever decide to go here.
When we 1st arrived, they asked us if we wanted to dine upstairs. We were sent up the stairs and really didn’t know where to go. So we just seat ourselves? it wasn’t very warm and welcoming upstairs and actually quite dark and more like a bar scene then a restaurant scene. It was still nice but we also didn’t know there was an option to sit on the patio. Again, we sat ourselves and had no idea there was a well lit enclosed patio we could have gone to. Moving on….
The menu options were nice and the kids were excited to see chicken and waffles on the menu. Meanwhile as we’re deciding what to order, we overhear the table behind us start to send their undercooked waffles back. Oh boy, that’s what the kids want to order. I then advised the kids to order something else because clearly there is something off with the waffles. They proceeded to order waffles and asked for them to be well done and crispy.
I ordered a cocktail because why not🤣 and it was EXCELLENT. It was called Side Chick. It was much needed after this experience 🤭
The food came and the waffles were, as I thought they would be, not completely cooked. My eggs came with cheese which I don’t eat and didn’t order as such. They brought out more eggs 20 min later which were now too runny.
The grits were good and the hash browns were excellent. Their greens are good and the yams were meh 🫤
The manager came to check on us after we informed Bri about our unsatisfactory items. Again, Bri was GREAT! The manager brushed us off, didn’t come back to the table, didn’t apologize or even offer to take anything off the $175 check.
I still left Bri a $25 tip because again, it wasn’t her fault!
Our overall disappointment came after the way the manager handled things and never even came back to let us know what was about to happen.
Would we go back? No, not for brunch for sure. We may go for a date night and...
