National Coney Island - 7 & Mack — Restaurant in Detroit

I had several unpleasant experiences at National Conley Island with the following waitress: Christine, Nancy and Lisa.

I have been a faithful customer at this Nation Conley Island for at least the last 3 years.

I normally dine-in daily from one to three times a day for five days a week through-out the complete year.

Annually my food cost averaging $6K-$8K at National Conley Island.

I have chosen this National Conley Island as my local family restaurant because of the safety, great food and pleasant atmosphere.

I ordered my normal breakfast, Nancy was my waitress during my visit.

After I completed my breakfast, I placed my credit card on the table

Nancy came by the table picked up the credit card went to the cash register and returned to the table with my credit card and merchant copy for my signature I told Nancy that I wanted to add my points to my account

Nancy you swiped the credit card for authentication?

Nancy stated yes what's your phone number I'll add your points to your account later when I'm not so busy

I told Nancy no that's not how this works you supposed to have brought me a customer copy that shows the cost of the food and at that time I would have told you to add my points to my account but you came to the table and tooked the credit card swiped the card for authorization and bring the merchant copy.

I stated that's not how I do business!

Nancy started pointing her finger at me saying you don't talk to me like that I said Nancy if you had followed protocol this would never have happened.

I couldn't believe what was happening I became very upset, that was a terrible day for me.

I ordered a bowl of oatmeal when Lisa returns with the oatmeal it was very dry so I asked Lisa to allow Debbie make the oatmeal for me Debbie returns with the oatmeal it was perfect, Lisa comes to my table and says that she cooked the oatmeal exactly as Debbie did I told Lisa if you had cooked the oatmeal exactly like Debbie we would not be having this conversation.

Lisa has refused to serve my table when I visit the restaurant. ..........................................................

During the years of 2021-2022 Christine was my waitress on many occasions, Christine would take my order and return with the food as normal but was she was never attentive during my restaurant visits🤔.

Christine only returns to bring the bill.

After one year passed by and having Christine as my waitress numerous of times I asked Christine one day why is it that you're never attentive when your my waitress? Christine looked into my face and said ok what! I told Christine I can't believe this is happening.

2nd incident with Christine yr: 2023

Christine was my waitress so I ordered oatmeal as usual but when she returns with the oatmeal Christine had this happy facial expression that I never seen on her before I was afraid to eat the oatmeal and had another waitress remake another bowl of oatmeal.

I told Christine I don't trust you, when I come to visit the restaurant and you see me I have over heard you say to the other waitress you take him.

I enjoy eating at National Conley Island I visit daily, but I do avoid Tuesday and Wednesday mornings because I may not have a waitress to serve...

I was at this Coney Island today. I placed order for hashbrowns with 3 scrambled eggs, patty melt with eggs and hashbrowns with grilled onions. The young black girl took my order and messed it up not once but twice got damn. Then they remade the order messed the order up twice. I went to pick the order up for Thursday remake and spoke to Christy who was very condescending and rude. I tried to tell her you never know who comes into your establishment and fact the order was wrong 3 times is completely absurd she cut me off immediately saying well I didn't take the order okaaay I'm sure u didn't but you are front hoise staff along with the new girl took my order and included Christy and the other 2 ladies who were front of the house were twice my age all looked to be over age of 50 and you mean to tell me YALL ALLOWED THE NEW GIRL TO MESS ORDERS UP 3 TIMES then Christy had the audacity to tell me she didn't mess the order up YOU RIGHT ALL THE FRONT HOUSE STAFF MESSED THE ORDER UP y'all are to help the new people so things like this don't happen. I wouldn't dare run my kitchen to where somebody is allowed to keep messing orders up and I or my employees working same stations as me not help. It was almost seeming racist to me but if it's not it definitely wasn't restaurant etiquette and who heck wants orders to keep being messed up messing up the restaurants money. Make it make sense. I told Christy I DEFINITELY was going to write a google review and mention her name because the way she talks to customers and NOT ACCEPT ANY ACCOUNTABILITY BUT LOVES TO BLAME OTHERS FOR FRONT HOUSE KITCHEN MISTAKES SHE DEFINITELY Wouldn't BE AN EMPLOYEE OF MINE SHE WOULD OF BEEN FIRED THAT DAY AND I was going mention her in this review. I spoke kindly to Christy and for her to be rude and condescending wasnt called for and for my order get messed up 3 times I definitely won't EVER come back to eat here and I will be writing your stock holders and corporate a nice letter about this as well as the better...

Ok this place has a problem with waitresses with ATTITUDE!! The other problem is the food is basically trash now after the renovation. The big problem tho- THIS PLACE IS FILTHY!!! I have watched the cooks and it is nasty even tho they wear gloves they do not change them so be aware if you have a food allergy of any kind. They almost wear gloves to make it appear clean when it's always looking ratchet in the kitchen. The best indicator of a nasty restaurant is the BATHROOM. The bathrooms in resturaunts reflect how often things are cleaned if the bathroom is not mopped nightly chances are the kitchen isn't either. Just enter the restroom here and you can decide for yourself if you should eat there. Plus watch the waitresses- I never see hand washing. The food is slapped together and fresh out of the freezer this place is just disgusting sorry I used to eat here then started noticing how things are and will probably never go back. Avoid raw things like salad...
