I was just totally rubbed the wrong way coming to this facility. I usually use americas best but they don’t have a contract with my insurance so I went to svs thinking it would be a similar experience. The receptionist on duty was nice and I was seen fairly quickly. The optometrist assistant was also very friendly. I didn’t particularly care for the OD but whatever. When it came time for paying for contacts I was told there was a 70 dollar fitting fee and I was utterly confused because my insurance plan has low deductibles and copay’s and the covers first 200 dollars and I knew that because I just did enrollment. So I ended up paying for it because I had no other options. I left but called my insurance immediately in the car and they said you should only have to pay $5 copay. Come to find out I had a secondary plan and they pulled the wrong one. So they refunded me my money and I was squared away. So then I go to purchase my glasses from an internet vendor because buying glasses from the actual doctor is not what I do since their glasses are ugly and overpriced. I’ve been buying my glasses from zenni and zeelol for 5 years and receive compliments all the time. I noticed that the P/D was missing from the prescription. When i returned to the office to pick up my contacts I advised the receptionist that my P/D was missing and I needed it to purchase glasses another receptionist that was older advised her that it was missing because they only measure if you’re purchasing glasses.
Here’s my thing if you’re billing my insurance for a contact and eyewear exam I should be able to get my full perception without all this hassle! That seems almost like fraud. Like I said before I’ve done this numerous times without incident but coming here things are done differently so I won’t be coming back because I don’t like the...
Read moreI was called to pick up my glasses yesterday 01-17-25 via automated message and told to check the office hours before coming. Which i did with their website. I walked in, and the office was under construction or, at best, just doing an office move. Whoever the young lady was, who addressed me, came off as rude and unwelcoming and just said, " we're closed." Didnt even stop what she was doing to properly address a customer, and i barely even heard her say they'd be open on monday, so i had to ask again. Great, thanks for the in-depth customer service and explanation. Your office called me to come in, and I followed the instructions. They could have at least figured out why I was there. I could have been in and out. I have held my tongue for years on this place because everyone is different, but it just seems to attract people who are not personable to customers. I even came here in lieu of the location that's closer to my house because the good customer service and treatment usually outweigh the bad. But be it in person or over the phone, there's always one that just ruins it. Now, hopefully, I can get my glasses without them holding a grudge on this review.
Edit 01-24-25 I received a call from an SVS representative yesterday who read the review and called me to address the issue. There was nothing she could do to change past but the willingness to try to contact the customer and resolve or at least hear out the issue gets them an updated review and another star. I have never had any company call me personally after a review to address anything. She was kind and professional so I had to...
Read moreI was rushed when it was time to pick my frames out. The receptionist who checked me in was very kind, she had good hospitality and made me feel welcomed. The eye appointment was surprisingly quick. I was in there for about 7 minute. The doctor asked me "Can you see this? Can you see this? Alright we're done" that was it. When it came time for me to look around for frames the person who worked there rushed me. They said "You can pick any frames that you like" then proceeded to grab the frames off of the shelf and hand them to me one by one asking "How about these? Or these? These?" After about two minutes of asking I became frustrated, gave up and just picked whatever frames because I was getting upset about being rushed. I feel like that person should have stepped back and let me choose which ones I wanted on my own. I wasn't happy with the frames that I bought. I ended up spending $230 because I lost both of my previous glasses and I had to pay for the appointment and for the frames, my insurance only covered for two pair per year. After wearing the glasses for a week I discovered that they gave me the wrong prescription, the glasses that they gave me were a weaker prescription than the ones that I had before. It's been a few months and whenever I wear them I can not see little words far away that I used to could see with my old pair of glasses and after wearing the glasses for 2 hours I end up with a pounding headache and my eyes feel like they are being pulled. I am truly disappointed. These glasses are definitely not the same as...
