I enjoy bringing my bichon frises, Hachi, to Pet People to purchase treats and a toy right after he has been groomed each month. The employees are very friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to make my shopping experience a good one. Hachi is fussy about the treats and food that he will eat, so I am often given samples of different foods and treats for Hachi to try, thereby saving me extra trips to and from the store, and money spent on food that he won't eat. The bags of freeze-dried food that I get from Pet People have always seemed fresh, whereas the same bags of food that I have purchased from other pet food stores have sometimes appeared old, and hard as a rock. Besides food, treats and toys, I have occasionally needed to buy cold-weather attire for Hachi. The coats and sweaters for pets that I have purchased for Hachi there, have been well-made and the variety of styles, as well as size availability, have been better than at other stores where I have looked. They also carry a good variety of quality collars, leashes, harnesses, etc. The prices for food and treats, on average, are about the same as at the larger pet food stores and the online stores that I have ordered from in the past. Pet People carries some better quality pet foods that I cannot find at stores that carry brands that are more familiar to the general public. A perk at the store is the availability to bathe Hachi, myself, there at the store, if I cannot wait to take him to the groomer's. This is an advantage as I have no convenient facility to bathe Hachi at my apartment, and being an all-white dog, he sometimes needs to be washed in-between his 4-week groomer visits. I've been shopping at this Pet People store since 2019, & I am very happy with this place. For starters, Anna, the General Manager, & her team are EXCELLENT. Ever since I first came into that store, & Anna helped me, she has set a standard for customer service that no other pet supplies store in the metro area has been able to meet, IMO. Her team follows her example, & I ALWAYS feel taken care & valued as a customer when I shop there. Pet People offers high quality food & products for cats, & I know that I'm feeding my cats very good quality, healthy food. Anna took the time to explain to me the standards behind the Weruva brand of canned catfood & the Fromm dried cat food, & bc of her product knowledge, I felt very good making that switch for my cats, & they are happy w/ the food. I also use Boxiecat cat litter, & it it's the best brand of cat litter I've ever used for my cats, one of whom is fussy about her litter box, they both are happy to use it! I live in the Grosse Pointes, & This store is much closer to me than where I used to shop, so driving there is never a hardship, though I sometimes do use their delivery service. Love to visit the friendly, knowledgeable staff at Petpeople in GROSSE Pointe. I would like to highlight my recent visit to get pet food. Anna was very friendly and I shared that I had a new kitty. She made suggestions and I purchased a cat tree just for my new cat. It was raining and As I was moving my car near the door, Anna was carrying this huge cat tree in the rain to help place it in my vehicle. I was so surprised and appreciative of Anna and yet another reminder why I always choose Petpeople over other chain stores.
