I can honestly say that I read the reviews on this restaurant before I made our reservations. I was determined not to be swayed by the negative comments , so I went in with high expectations.
When I first approached the host station it was empty, but the young lady came from down a hallway not connected to the restaurant to meet and seat me. No problem, but noted. It’s important that I say that the appearance of the host area and also the front seating areas of the restaurant were pretty and elegant!
We were only a party of two, so we were seated in the very back where the scenery seemed to be as if we entered a different restaurant. The paneled walls appeared cheap, the flooring was not worth mentioning and the booth was so small that it has to be for children and I’m a petite woman (to be honest).
We were seated by a party of at least 8 people and it’s one thing to have a certain noise level because of the group size but this party definitely was so loud as if they were at a buffet or at the deli.
My server approached and immediately apologized for the noise level of that table.
Next, after looking over the menu we ordered drinks and our food. When it arrived in a decent amount of wait time. The presentation was nice but honestly the table was so small it seemed crammed.
The $68 NY Strip (was ordered medium well) but it was dry and appeared to be no better quality than a local grocery store steak.
The $14 brussel sprouts were okay and charred correctly,
The $12 whipped potatoes were okay, nothing special,
The $17 Lobster Bisque was lacking in lobster flavor and taste more of cream and was served warm not hot, the only positive is it was pretty.
The $22 Oysters were good quality with a nice presentation,
The $27 Crab Cake (yes one) but the portion was great only because it contained more filler than crab, it was too well down and nothing special in flavor, but the delicious green sprigs of salad garnished on the side was the star of that dish!
The Caesar Salad was $15 and it was very delicious!
I also ordered a mocktail version of the Strawberry Fizz and it was okay, but I appreciated the server an d bartender for even making the effort!
So, in the end our bill was $198 with the addition of $4 bearnaise (my fiancé added to his steak) and it is important to note that we have never been charged at any other restaurant for it…and also a $4 Lemonade ( which was no problem).
I am going to add that I don’t mean to seem biased but unlike many Las Vegas Casinos restaurants…by this casino restaurant allowing comps from its guests to pay for dining seemed to change the dining experience because the crowd seemed to not really be there too appreciate a fine dining experience and more to party and be happy with mediocre food because they didn’t really pay for it in “real time”.
I’m just being honest. I feel as if we wasted $198, we probably should have just went to the Lodge Diner and got the basics just to say we ate before the Chante Moore concert ( which was phenomenal and the best part...
Read moreThis review is long overdue and I actually debated whether or not to leave it. However, our entire experience here was one we won’t soon forget as it was our anniversary. My husband and I wanted to celebrate our Anniversary with dinner at Sullivan’s, but we missed our reservation, so we decided to give this place a try. From the moment we arrived I felt like a burden. I told the manager (at the time I thought he was the host) that today is our Anniversary and I was taken aback when he actually asked us to tell him today’s date as if we were being deceitful. 😒, but I digress. After a few more irrelevant questions he eventually proceeds to try and seat us at a connecting booth directly next to the only other black people in the restaurant. I’m a former hostess and server so I already knew what was happening. IYKYK! I politely declined and informed him that we’d rather just sit at the bar. I should’ve left then, but nope I’m a glutton for punishment. My husband and I ordered an app, libations and two filets Medium Rare with accompaniments. Shortly after, a gentleman comes in and gets seated right next to us at the bar and orders almost the same thing. A filet mignon the same way (med rare) but with a lobster tail. He receives his food well before us and it looked delicious. So now I’m a bit annoyed but still hopeful because at least it’ll taste great when it does arrive, right? Wrong! When the steaks were finally served, they were hard as a rock and visibly well done. I tried to find the bar tender who took our order but she disappeared for the remainder of our visit. Eventually someone helped us track down a manager (who I initially thought was the host) and he agreed it was indeed too well done to enjoy and the wait was entirely too long. Noticing himself that the guy seated after us had already finished eating when our food arrived, he apologized. I made him aware that I’d like to cash out and leave, but the manager insisted we didn’t have to pay for the 2 drinks and the appetizer we ordered. He even invited us back to give them a second chance as this was our first experience. We don’t get many date nights having three young children and working long hours, so I look forward to a decent meal when we do get out. Especially when it’s a special occasion. My time and money are too valuable to waste on less than subpar, poor quality service and food. The gist is that it was not a Happy seventh Anniversary thanks to...
Read moreMissed the mark here. I was looking forward to trying Revel and it was incredibly underwhelming. My mixed drink (raspberry mint) was good but took 20 minutes to get to the table. The crab cake was as if they dumped a can on crab meat into a pan and seared it. No flavor, very bland. Two soups were shared, had the french onion and lobster bisque. The French onion was medicore to say the least. Nothing special very generic. The lobster bisque was weird. Salty with a strange taste. Memorable but not in a good way. My stomach still hurts thinking about it. The steaks were ok, but not anything to be excited about. The cuts of meat were good and cooked right but the presentation was confusing. I had the filet minon with zip sauce. The zip was served on the side in something similar to a cream dispenser. It was thick like gravy. Not very tasty. The other party had a ribeye with garlic butter. The garlic butter came onthe side sliced. It was good but the presentation was totally offputting. Ribeye was a good cut of meat, but again, nothing special. If it was not foe the garlic butter the dish would be flavorless. Two sides were ordered, creamed spinach and scalloped potatoes. The creamed spinach was lumpy and dry. Not mixed properly as I bit into a piece of sea salt. The flavor was off. Not creamy. Did not meet expectations. The scalloped potatoes were also bland. Did not want dessert as majority everything was disappointing. The bread was good. That was honestly my favorite item of the night.
Genuinely this place would contend with Texas roadhouse or outback, so save your money. I don't think they have an actual chef as the quality was not to a chefs standard by any means. I felt like someone went to trader Joe's and changed up some of the frozen items then added a 500% mark up and a fancy atmosphere.
The waiter pulled the side dishes away and boxed them up as I was eating. It was really uncomfortable and awkward. Never asked if I was done.
It was loud and the atmosphere was far from upscale. Difficult to relax and get that upscale steakhouse feel. I feel like this place could use a lot of...
