Don Taco Cowtown — Restaurant in Dodge City

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Don Taco Cowtown, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment I walked in, the lively and vibrant atmosphere set the stage for a fun, casual meal. The place is full of character with its western flair and friendly vibe, making it the perfect spot to enjoy great food with friends or family.

The tacos at Don Taco Cowtown are hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. I started with the al pastor tacos, and they were simply perfection. The marinated pork was tender and flavorful, with a nice smoky char, and the fresh pineapple added just the right touch of sweetness. I also tried the carne asada tacos, which were equally delicious—perfectly grilled beef with just the right amount of seasoning. The tortillas were soft and fresh, making every bite feel like a true treat.

I couldn’t resist trying the street corn (elote), and it did not disappoint! It was creamy, smoky, and topped with just the right amount of chili powder and cheese—an absolute must-try.

The service was outstanding. The staff was friendly, quick, and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The drinks menu was also impressive, with a great selection of margaritas and beers to complement the meal.

In a virtual sea of Mexican restaurants that exist in Dodge City this is truly a standout! I come here on business and although I like Mexican food it tends to be pretty boring and especially ubiquitous in this area. Frankly a lot of the food available in Dodge has no real purpose other than make a turd. I pulled into Don tacos Cowtown, for no other reason then I've never been there before. First I had a michelada, a blooming onion which were very good. The michelada was huge and fantastic, custom crafted by our server, a young man named Ever. I then ordered the barrias tacos. They were outstanding, and even came with a consommé of the wonderful juices that the meat was cooked in. The rice was excellent as were the beans. I enjoyed every bit of it! You guys need to check this place out. The atmosphere is nice. The places squeaky clean and the food and service were fantastic!...

It was my dad’s birthday, and we originally planned to go to a franchise restaurant nearby.. Big mistake. They put us on a waitlist, made my little sister wait around for two hours, and never even got us seated.

Frustrated, we called Don Taco Cow Town, and they said, “Come on in.” I wish we had gone there from the start. The place was on point. Our server, Vanessa, crushed it—super friendly, great attitude, and made us feel welcome from the jump.
