Tacos El Torito — Restaurant in Dodge City

I recently visited Tacos El Torito, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the warm, casual atmosphere, which made me feel right at home. The space is cozy and has a genuine, no-frills vibe that makes it clear they focus on one thing: serving fantastic food.

The tacos at Tacos El Torito are some of the best I’ve ever had. I started with the al pastor tacos, and they were perfect—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The meat was tender, and the pineapple added just the right touch of sweetness. I also tried the carne asada, which was equally impressive—grilled to perfection and packed with smoky, charred flavors that paired wonderfully with the fresh salsa and cilantro.

The portions were generous, and the tortillas were fresh and soft—clearly made with care. For a side, I couldn’t resist the elote (Mexican street corn), and it did not disappoint—creamy, smoky, and topped with just the right amount of cheese and chili powder.

The service was fast and friendly, with the staff always ready to make recommendations and ensure we had everything we needed. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.

Had to completely change my review now. We eat here daily, and the food is getting worse by the day. The guys that use to cook no longer work here. Stopped in here for a late night snack ordered not spicy guacamole, and they poured green sauce all over it. Picture is on this review. Also ordered the nacho supreme and it all sat in an inch of cheese sauce. So the chips all fell apart, and couldn't eat them. Ordered tacos at lunch today and the asada meat was raw in spots. The girl with glasses does not know how to cool the food, it is TERRIBLE if she is cooking!! She use to be a waiter, and they stuck her in to cook when the guy cooks left. She is very vindictive, and will put stuff in your food. We spoke with the owner, and he is aware of her actions and apologized. 7-28 Stopped in today to get lunch, and she was in the trailer eating food while she was cooking. I ordered 20 steak tacos and the lady brought my bag out. I didn't check it because they have always been good to go. Drove about an hour east of dodge to share the tacos with the family and found we only got 10 tacos. Tried to call to resolve the issue and the person who answered then promptly hung up on me. Tried to call back several times and they don't answer the phone now. Paid the bill and tipped 15%. I guess I will have to find another taco place when I am in Dodge unless they reach out to me to resolve the issue. If they do I will update...
