Do your homework! We drove 8 hrs from Texas to find the biggest attractions do not happen to after memorial day to include the trolley tour. Part of that is on us for no checkijg prior to the trip, but I have never been to a place that only operates in the "summer" after memorial day. Same issue with several other attractions in Dodge City. If you are coming to visit best to wait till after memorial day. There was also a crazy amount of construction going on which ruined the downtown experience as well as going to see the "trails" and there is no "iconic dodge city sign" as it was taken down for road construction. The "zoo" was also not working. We had a decent time, but could have been an awesome time had any of that been going on. We could have showed up the night before spent about 3 hours and headed back to Texas. We gave it a full day but half the day was waste with nothing to do and an extra night at the hotel. Also Sundays are a bust. Do your homework before you head this way. We were spoiled...
   Read moreThis is where you get the information on the walking tour, which is unfortunately a let down. I wish they had better markers instead of relying on me knowing what direction East is. Some of the sites, if you can find them, are interesting - but most of them are not even on Google maps so if you get turned around you can’t navigate your way to the next place. My guess is that some of the statues have to be missing because I never found them. This could be a very cool thing to do but it just wound up being more confusing...
