Very uncomfortable visit... My husband and I just left this establishment, and we just couldn't wait to leave. Not sure what the issue might have been, but we was over question both times when we had requested water... We are not strangers to Cuban dishes so we knew exactly what we wanted to order... but after we just sat down and requested our water, we waited 15 to finally make an order. We finally got out order in and the food came out fast. Food was good, and the male server was actually friendly. This was the only good moment we had. Around this time, this was when we requested our 2nd glass of water which arrived halfway through our meal. So we requested another plate of churrasco with onions and some chimichurri and some yellow plaintains... ( she questioned the onions on our churrasco as well!) Our server, whom she never gave us her name to begin with, brings our order to go! Then she claims we never said we wanted it to stay when she asked.. But she never heard our answer rushing her way back inside. Now we are upset at this point. We didnt even want our flan or coffee. Just wanted to pay and leave. Now my husband, who is a doctor and is a frequent visitor to this chain in Barceloneta , goes to pay... with the machine in her hand ready to take his card. We definitely understand the procedures due to covid, but she never handed him or at least place the machine down so he can enter his pin privately and prior to that she asked what are we leaving for tip? Sadly we left no tip. My husband was upset with the service, after speaking so highly of Metropol. Sad that for my first experience, this is what we encountered today. Great food, strange service. Even after calling the store to complain, the call felt dismissive and...
Read moreMetropol Restaurant in Dorado is like the ultimate food party where Cuban and Puerto Rican flavors meet to create a culinary explosion that your taste buds will thank you for! If youâre in Dorado and you havenât eaten here, youâre seriously missing out.
First things first: the ropa vieja is a masterpiece. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, itâs like a warm hug from your Cuban abuelaâif you had one. And letâs not forget the mofongo relleno, because whatâs a trip to Puerto Rico without diving into some delicious plantain magic? The way they blend Cuban and Puerto Rican classics is pure genius.
The portions? Letâs just say youâre going to need a bigger table. Everything comes out hot, fresh, and in quantities that make you wonder if they think youâre feeding an entire baseball team. And the appetizers? The croquetas de jamĂłn will have you fighting your dining companions for the last one.
The vibe here is perfectâcasual yet lively, with just the right mix of energy and comfort. Itâs the kind of place where you can bring your family, your friends, or even a date youâre trying to impress. The staff are amazing, too. Super friendly, fast, and ready to recommend their favorites if you canât decide (because, trust me, everything looks good).
And donât even get me started on the cocktails. Their mojitos are out of this worldâminty, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. Pair one with your meal, and youâll be living your best vacation life.
Metropol Dorado isnât just a restaurant; itâs an experience. Come hungry, leave happy, and start planning your next visit before you even leave the parking lot. Highly recommend for anyone who loves good food, good vibes, and a little bit of...
Read moreent there for Thanksgiving, I took my mother to eat. Bad, bad service! I was left waiting for a waitress for about 10/15 minutes. I had to go look for assistance. When our food arrived (Thanksgiving Special) everything looked fine until I started eating. The Turkey and the side of ground beef was salty. Before I begon to eat, I had to go for assistance again because we had no utensils. When they do bring utensils, they were plastic. What the heck! Iooked around and other people had metal forks and knifes. Really? My mother and I did not eat the food. The waitress asked my mother if she needed a container to take the food home? My mother replied with a, yes. I immediately told the waitress that she had not brought us the pumpkin pie. She replied yes, I know but I wanted to bring the containers over first so that your table is a little more cleaned up before giving you the pie. She brings both the containers and the pies all together. When I was ready to pay, I couldn't for now they were exchanging cashiers. It was my first time there but what a horrible nightmare that was. My dog was happy with all that food though. I have a picture with my plastic utensils. Not recommended for anyone! What a...
