Café Cuatro Sombras — Restaurant in Dorado

I usually only take my time writing positive reviews, however the experience at this place was so disappointing. From the terrible service and attitudes of two out of three employees the only helpful and customer service oriented one was on break for the most part of our visit (bald male) but did make it right for me when I went it for a third time for missing items and wrong made food. We ordered 5 drinks total. Two of them being lemonades for my kids which are premade to just pour so the fact that they act so bothered to make three lattes and can’t get it right it’s ridiculous lol. I asked for no foam which was the most”difficult” part of the order and a third of my cup was foam. Please get some leadership in this place and some employees that actually care what they are serving most sloppy breakfast we had while in PR, maybe if they took some care in what they were doing. We spent $120 in this place wish is not a problem but for food you can’t eat or an avocado toast the size of a toddlers hand. I’m merely writing this in hopes someone who actually cares holds their employees accountable and steers them in the right direction. Wanted to try this coffee shop for about two years now just to end up with the worse tasting coffee we had on our trip as well. We wanted to grab a quick breakfast after our daily walk. I'm vegan and was very disappointed to see that they only had a piece of bread with avocado and nothing else to offer me. We decided to only get a coffee to go and go elsewhere. My friend ordered a regular latte because she usually likes how they make it there. First of all we were the only customers there apart from a lady with a puppy. I'm a dog lover and have 2 dogs myself but I don't find it sanitary to allow a dog inside an establishment where you're actually making food. The place is very small and open and there's really no division between the kitchen and tge customers other than the counter. That being said to make matters worse the employee that was making the coffee left his post and went over to pet the dog. When my friend asked the other employee about her order because we had been wating a long time for just a cup of coffee he told her that the one petting the dog was on it. Then the employee that toched the dog went back to finish the coffee WITHOUT washing his hands, he even grabbed a stirrer to mix the beverage and placed the lid tightly on top by pressing it with his unwashed hands. Needless to say my friend did not drink the coffee, she threw it away. It was bad enough that the service wasn't good because of the wait but the thing that really disgusted us was the unsafe food handling, that's nothing to take lightly, serious...

Let me start saying that they have an amazing coffee and an incredible guava cake. However service is terrible, I went in a moment with only 3 customers in front of me and place empty and they have zero negotiation or selling skills and poor customer service. They have different serving sizes 6oz, 8oz, 12oz, 16oz. And they did not have cup inventory of 8oz and 12oz at the moment and I requested the 8oz in the 16oz cup with 2 extra shot. And they said no that I have to buy the 16 or 6oz. When in every coffee shop I’ve been is totally normal, is not my fault they do a terrible job running their inventory. Cost of making coffee is absurdly cheap and when you have a lot of volume of customers even the cost of labor is cheap. I’m going to highly recommend corporate to make a review in the policy and to start having more accountability in your store.
