I recently came here with my family (3 girls 10 and under) and we were very excited to about eating here. The night started out bad when they seated us right under the AC vent which was freezing cold. I asked to be moved and at first we were told it wasn’t that cold. Then after 10 minutes of shivering they moved us. Then we asked if the pork in the meal we had could be substituted and the waitress said yes. But when we got the meal, 1/2 of it was a huge slab of baby back ribs and we were told then they couldn’t substitute it. Our wings appetizer came and we had no plates. We ate on brown napkins for a while until we flagged down a waiter who brought us plates. I dropped my fork and had to eat with the servicing spoon because I never saw the waitress again. We got one round of drinks. Waitress never came back to ask if we wanted more water. We were never asked how our meal was. The staff did express their apologies at the end of our meal and offered us one extra piece of chicken, but it almost seemed as if they didn’t want to be accountable for the meal order confusion and so they stayed away until we were leaving. We had to go ask someone to bring us the bill at the end of the meal. Overall, one of my worst restaurant service experiences ever. It’s a real shame because the food there is good. But if you’re a person who expects a decent service experience or a manager who cares about fixing a problem when someone messes up your order, you won’t leave happy. However, the food is good. Maybe just order takeout and check your order before you leave.

Well second time here. First time was pretty good. Worth coming back. Today I came in fora late lunch. I was seated and waited 16 minutes before my waiter showed up. I was a little peeved. No he didn't have a lot of tables. I was watching him at this point. Food was meh. Not nearly as good as before. The brisket was decent. I tried the sausage link and it's got to be one of the worst barbecue links I've ever had. They gave you a gracious helping of it. But I'm still sick to my stomach even now tasting it. I also had the spare ribs. They were not as good as the first time either. They were undercooked and way tougher than they needed to be. The fries were not a seasoned as the first time either. The cornbread was actually really good. If not for the cornbread and the brisket this whole meal would have been atrocious. The waiter had done his best to try to bring me my food as fast as possible after the initial failure. Then followed that up with not being anywhere around for a refill of my drink for 15-20 minutes. I wasn't terribly impressed with any of the barbecue places around here. Famous Dave's did okay the first time but was horrible this time. If this is one of the better places around then you need to come to Houston so you can actually taste what good barbecue tastes like. You're certainly likely to get better service. This ain't it.

I did not have a good experience especially with the service. The waiter was training someone and the trainee was better than the waiter. To top it off the waiter did not understand English. I was holding a table for a party and had to order my food to go. I ordered it 30 minutes prior to the party arriving. I order yucca to eat and one drink while I wait which i did not receive the yucca. I also asked for my check with a military discount. The party arrived and ordered their food and got their food in 15 minutes, quick, while I still did not get my food. No check still. I complained and the waiter rushed to back to check on food. Finally the food came out which I assumed they rushed. I recorded my check with no Description of what I ordered and over charged. I also did not get what I asked for, I specifically order Mac and cheese and mash potatoes. I was in a rush and left! This is terrible service a refund is the minimum they can do! What a waste of time.

I had the pleasure of visiting Famous Dave’s Doral for the first time while staying at the Marriott for a wedding weekend with my family. From start to finish, the experience was fantastic.

The Cajun pasta I ordered was nothing short of extraordinary one of the best I’ve ever had! It was so delicious that I’m already planning a return visit just to enjoy it again.

Our waitress, Carla, was exceptional. She was incredibly pleasant and attentive, ensuring our dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. We were so impressed that we asked to speak with Frank, the manager, to share our appreciation for Carla’s outstanding service. Frank himself was equally delightful, friendly, professional, and welcoming.

To top it off, he generously offered me a bottle of Famous Dave’s Wilbur’s Revenge Hot Sauce, adding a memorable touch to an already perfect dining experience.

If you’re ever in town, Famous Dave’s Doral is a must-visit destination. Great food, outstanding service, and a warm, friendly atmosphere make it a place worth returning to time and time again.

Our visit to Famous Dave's in Doral was a delightful experience from start to finish, with Angelica as our attentive and friendly waiter. Her warm demeanor and excellent service set the tone for the evening.

I ordered the Cajun Chicken and Shrimp Pasta without mushrooms and green onions once again. It was hands down, one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had still to this day. The sauce was flavorful, the shrimp perfectly cooked, and the chicken was tender and well-seasoned.

My family opted for a variety of dishes, including the ribs, pulled pork, chicken, and cornbread. While there was a minor mishap with one of our orders, the manager personally came out to address the issue. Their professionalism and genuine concern ensured that everything was made right, enhancing our overall experience.

When the corrected order arrived, it was worth the wait. I normally steer clear of pulled pork as it can often be dry, but I was pleasantly surprised by how tender, juicy, and flavorful it was. The cornbread, a classic staple, was a hit with its perfect texture and slight sweetness.

Famous Dave's Doral didn’t just serve us a meal—they delivered a memorable dining experience. The combination of great food, exceptional service, and management’s dedication to customer satisfaction left a lasting impression. We’ll definitely be...

Terrible Late-Night Experience at Famous Dave’s Doral

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Famous Dave’s Doral last night was incredibly disappointing and honestly, unacceptable for any establishment claiming to value customer service.

I arrived at 10:20 PM, well before their listed closing time of 11:00 PM. I understand that coming in later in the evening might not be ideal for the staff, but I still expected to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, that was far from what I received.

From the moment I walked in, the bartender, Alexnie, made it clear with her body language and facial expressions that I was not welcome. She didn’t greet me, didn’t smile, and instead looked visibly irritated that a customer had the audacity to show up “so late.” I’ve worked in hospitality before—I know what the end of a shift feels like—but there’s still a professional way to handle it, and this was not it.

At 10:50 PM, she came over and abruptly told me “we’re closing,” with an annoyed and almost aggressive tone. There was no “take your time,” “last call,” or even a polite reminder—just a blunt dismissal. It was clear she wanted me out, and fast. She barely said a word otherwise, gave off a cold, dismissive attitude, and made me feel more like a burden than a guest.

To be clear: I wasn’t lingering. I ordered quickly, wasn’t disruptive, and expected a basic level of service. But instead of being treated like a customer, I felt like I was being pushed out the door the moment I sat down. I get that closing time was approaching, but if you’re open until 11:00 PM, then you should be willing to serve guests who arrive before then—not treat them like an inconvenience.

It’s unfortunate because I’ve enjoyed Famous Dave’s in other locations, but this experience left a really bad taste in my mouth (and not because of the food). Customer service is just as important as what’s on the plate—and in this case, it was completely lacking.

If you don’t want to serve customers past a certain time, change your hours. But don’t stay open until 11:00 PM and then treat people like they’re unwelcome at 10:20 PM.

Definitely won’t be returning to...

My husband and I visited the Doral location this evening. I wish I could have given this place a big fat ZERO. The servers were clearly aware of our presence but totally ignored us. Although we aren’t in the same ethnic group as their employees and the majority of their customers, we just wanted a bbq meal on this 4th of July. So disappointing!!!

As we were being seated, one server with blond hair was cleaning the table across from us and when he finished , he stood in the kitchen area socializing. Another server came from the restroom and leaned against the wall texting on his phone. Another server went near the kitchen area socializing after she served the couple behind us. When a family of four was seated about 8-10 minutes after us that female server went directly to their table to take their order. There were other servers hanging out in the kitchen area as well.

When my husband went to the from desk to inquire about being served, I noticed that the servers who were hanging out near the kitchen area disbursed. One of the servers, the guy with the blind hair moved behind the drink dispenser. My husband spoke with the greeter, Frank C. who was said to be disrespectful, belligerent and argumentative toward my husband. My husband said that the greeter spoke to him as if he didn’t have the right to complain about the lousy service.

The manager, Shelly P. came to the front to speak with us, stating that she was unaware of what was going on because she was in the back. So, I’m wondering who is managing who. After requesting the corporate information, Shelly returned after a period of with the company’s email address, stating that she had to look online for it.

My husband is a Navy veteran and served this country for years and worked as an educator for 15 years in Doral. He is so upset in being treated in this manner, especially on the 4th of July.

Thank goodness they’re not the only place that sells bbq. We’re on our way to our usual bbq spot, Shorty’s Bbq. Although we’re always in the minority ethnic group at Shorty’s,, we’re always treated with respect and receive excellent service. We now know where to spend my our...
