This place is close to my house, so I decided to try it. I’ve on the hunt for a new middle eastern spot to get food on the regular since moving to the area. Regretfully this won’t be it. I got the veggie mezza. The portion was generous, the hummus was on thinner side which is how I prefer it, the thing is the falafels were placed next to it, so by the time I got home, they were soggy and crumbled when I try to pick them up. The flavor was a 7/10, the baba ghanoush was meh, the vine leaves were tender but limp, w little stuffing, the tabbouleh salad was 90% parsley and had no bulgur at all, only a few pieces of onion and cucumber. The guy that took my order was pretty dry. I didn’t think much of it, but when another couple came to get take out, he started asking “is this your first time here?” -They said no- “Well welcome back! I’m gonna give you a baklava on the house!” Meanwhile I asked to swap one salad for another and he said “NO that’s how it comes” again had I not witnessed that stark contrast in service I probably would have thought he was having a bad day, but it was definitely personal. Not sure why though, because we only interacted for 10 seconds or less, he asked if I was ready I said “yes” told him the plate and asked that one question, that was the extent of our exchange. Overall, it was on the pricier side, which I don’t mind if the quality is there, but the food was mediocre, and the service was bad. At almost $35 a plate (w tax + tip) I’d say there are way better...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of hosting our company's 20th-anniversary corporate celebration catered by Layali Miami, and we must say, it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a welcome drink, warm smiles and impeccable service that set the tone for the evening.
The food was nothing short of phenomenal. From the plate of passed hors d’oeuvres to the main course and desserts, every bite was a delight.
The service provided by the staff was top-notch. Sam, catered to everyone and everything, being incredibly attentive. He went above and beyond to make sure that our guests were well taken care of. His dedication and professionalism truly made a difference and added a personal touch to the evening.
I also have to mention the bartending service - it was outstanding. The cocktails were expertly crafted, and the bartenders were not only skilled but also engaging, creating a lively atmosphere that contributed to the success of the celebration.
Overall, I can't recommend Layali Miami enough for any special event or celebration. The combination of exceptional food, stellar service, and incredible bartending, along with Sam's attentive coordination, made our 20th-anniversary corporate celebration a night to remember. Read moreMe and my wife decided to eat at Layaali on Dec 20 2023 between 7 to 8 pm and were seated on the patio.
We browsed the menu and when the staff member came to take our order, we asked if there is any item with mixed meat like chicken, lamb and beef shawarma. He said something on following lines
“Yea sure I can make you something mixed with chicken beef and lamb with some Greek salad and hummus”
We said ok
Then our food started coming bowl of Greek salad bowl of hummus a platter of meat with beef chicken and lamb
The waiter made us order too much food for 2 persons. We were going to the airport to catch a flight after that and hence didn’t have the time to argue and even had to throw away the food we took with us.
The problem was that he made made us believe that he was was ordering a custom entree for us with these items, when in reality he ordered 4 different items off the menu and separately charged us for those. If we were to order separate items off the menu, we could have done it ourselves too.
He didn’t ask how hungry we were or how we wanted the meat done. He sent an order on our behalf with the intention to charge us exorbitant bill of 111$.
That’s cheating and your restaurant wouldn’t last long if you keep...
