MISSION BBQ — Restaurant in Doral

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing exceptional service at my favorite spot, thanks to the incredible efforts of Jenny and Bethany. Their attentiveness and dedication truly enhance the dining experience.

Jenny consistently goes above and beyond by making sure I have everything I need. She always asks if I require anything else, showing genuine concern for my satisfaction. What stands out the most is her attention to detail; she remembers my favorite sauce, the Smoky Mountain, and ensures I have it each time I visit. This personal touch makes me feel valued as a customer and adds to the overall enjoyment of my meal.

Bethany, on the other hand, brings a warm and welcoming energy to the establishment. Her smile is infectious, and it’s clear she strives to create a friendly atmosphere. I was particularly impressed when, despite being busy in the back, she noticed me waiting in line and took the initiative to come over and assist me without hesitation. This level of initiative is rare and speaks volumes about her character and work ethic.

I am not even sure where to begin with this review - I am so impressed with Mission BBQ. I was catering my daughters Sweet 16. It was Country Western themed so BBQ was the goal. My son was recently diagnosed with celiacs so we are constantly on the look out for knowledgeable gluten free restaurants. It was not hard to find Mission with their detailed and easily accessible allergy information. I placed my order with Dani H. It felt more like I was planning a menu with a friend than ordering from a restaurant. She was interested in my event and who was coming. She made very useful suggestions based on our intended guests. Dani was in tune to my allergy concern and reviewed all options and followed up with written information. The delivery was seamless. It included set up, even lighting of sternos. Adding again to their attentiveness to allergy issues they brought a printed menu with allergy information and highlighted all the foods we ordered that were gluten free. We had the pulled pork, sliced brisket, Mac and cheese, baked beans, corn bread, slider rolls, Cole Slaw and a variety of sauces. Everything was delicious, the portions were generous and the leftovers heat up...

I ordered brisket on one visit and was okay with my meal. So, on my second visit, I wanted to try something else on the menu. I ordered the chicken (see receipt), but I do not recommend it because it was pink on the inside. I didn't notice it immediately, and when I cut into another side, I found the bone to be bloody red (see photo). I took the chicken back to the cashier, who agreed that my chicken wasn't fully cooked. She took it over to the counter staff, who told me the pink color was from smoking and that it was fully cooked. I admit that my mistake was not asking for a refund. Because I couldn't eat the chicken, I ate the fries, cornbread, and potato salad that came with my meal (packaged in the same container as the pink chicken). Now, my job is less than 5 miles from Mission, and when I got back, I vomited four times. I'm not telling you not to go to this restaurant, but I don't recommend ordering or eating the chicken at all. I've heard of the degrees of doneness for beef (I don't eat pork), but not for chicken.
