Outback Steakhouse — Restaurant in Doral

I went today the 11th of July 2023! The restaurant was empty with few customers at the tables, the restaurant was empty at 03:45 pm! A server who is an older lady, was wearing glasses, blonde hair tied back but (I couldn't see her name), she arrived at the table to start serving her, extremely impatient, and extremely rude! On the menu there is a lunch promotion until 04:00 pm the promotional time, it was 03:50 and the same person who attended to us said that we could not order the promotion dish until 04:00 pm but the time for place my order on time! She with an impatient face said: no you can't ask! We decided to order something else, and we asked about the other promotion that was on the cup holder on the table that said that we could order from 03:00 pm to 05:00 pm of a certain dish mentioned in the image and she even seeing what it said on the the ad said she didn't know if we could ask that she was going to ask someone else and left! Her service was too confusing, and everything we asked she answered rudely and without patience! Making us feel extremely uncomfortable with her attitude towards us. We ordered drinks, I ordered water, which never arrived at the table! One of my friends ordered her dish first and the others were still choosing what we were going to order, and we asked the rude server for a moment! She took a deep breath and came out making a nasty face! then we ordered starters and main dishes! Drinks arrived at the table only after 25 minutes, it took a long time and the restaurant was empty for so long! My friend's food arrived before the drinks, before the Australian bread that is an appetizer, and before everyone's food! The Onion that was an appetizer arrived after 30 minutes of waiting, The drink refills were not replaced in the glasses and it only arrived at the table 30 minutes later, I had to ask several times, and still endure the mocking and bad-tempered face of that server who served us he answered extremely inappropriately, leaving us embarrassed and uncomfortable! 40 minutes later and our dishes still hadn't reached the table! I asked for the drink refill and at that moment the server got over her rudeness, being sarcastic, rude! I told her: A regular coke and a zero coke and I confirmed it and she sarcastically replied: That's exactly what I said! Sarcastically laughing at our faces! At the same time, I asked another employee to call the manager present in the restaurant! A very polite girl in an orange T-shirt came attentively to talk about what was going on! I explained to her ( Manager ) and said that this lady had a problem, she was treating and serving us in a rude and inappropriate way that we would like to be served by another Server who was polite and could serve us with respect ! After explaining the whole situation to her, she apologized for what happened! Changed the server and a smiling, attentive girl came who served us in a respectful and efficient way, she was excellent and even though she was not to blame for what happened, she apologized for the problem and confusion caused by the previous lady (Server). After 50 minutes waiting our food arrived after the complaint ai came quickly! But we waited too long as the restaurant was empty without many customers! The overall experience was not pleasant and respectful! We were only treated well after the complaint, because before that it was terrible! We feel bad for being treated so rudely by that first lady (Server) who served us! I do not intend to return to this same unit in the outback and I do not recommend it! This restaurant is newly opened and needs improvement especially in service, the bathroom was very dirty and with a very strong urine odor! The food was ok! Everything tasted good, but I found the menu offerings to be quite similar to what you'd find elsewhere, lacking that unique flair or standout dish that would elevate the dining experience from good to great.

Service (4 Stars): The service was commendable, with staff members who were friendly and attentive. However, the overall service experience didn't particularly shine across the board. While the service was good and met my expectations, it lacked the exceptional touch that would make it memorable. It's clear that the team is well-trained and efficient, but a bit more personality or engagement could have made a significant difference.

Ambiance (5 Stars): Where Outback truly excels is in its ambiance. The restaurant offers a very inviting and comfortable setting, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. My husband and I went there for the first time the other night and it was fantastic. We had no idea what we wanted from the menu since it was the first time for both of us, but instead of asking for a minute (like we normally do, we’re not animals) we started asking our poor waiter a million questions. Thankfully he was helpful and honest about everything, which helped us make great choices for our meals.

When we were almost finished with our food, we noticed (on the digital kiosk) that outback had a $10 take home meal. We asked our waiter about it and he convinced us to get a meal, we even added the salad and bread to go for an extra $2.

I also want to point out, that, on top of the amazing food we had, our waiter was extremely attentive and helpful. My husband and I spent all day in good moods, and we took those moods to the restaurant, laughing at jokes nobody else could hear or random things nobody else would find funny. Our waiter sat through those extreme laughing fits and helps us regardless. He never once seemed annoyed, or walked away, or made us feel negatively. He gave us a great experience.

The two hard notes I have are: we never got his name, so even if we go back, we probably won’t be able to get his table, all we know is that he said it was his second day waiting tables.

But also, when we got the $12 take home meal, (and we didn’t realize until we were home) that the restaurant forgot our salad, and we forgot to check the bag before we left. Now, it’s just a side salad, it’s not the end of the world, and we don’t know if it was the kitchen or the waiter or forgot, but it wasn’t a big deal regardless.
