We had an absolutely unforgettable experience at Sahara Grill, this place is a hidden gem that deserves all the stars in the sky! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted like family, and the warmth of the staff truly set the tone for the entire meal. You can tell this is a place built on love, tradition, and the kind of hospitality that leaves your heart (and your belly) full.
Let’s talk food: the homemade beef shawarma? To die for. Perfectly spiced, tender, and wrapped in the kind of pita that tastes like it was made just this morning. We’re still dreaming about it. And the labneh, oh my, creamy, tangy, impossibly fresh. The gyro was spectacular, a true showcase of flavor and texture. Everything was balanced, juicy, and cooked to perfection. You could taste the care in every bite.
Then came dessert, and wow. The Dubai chocolate was rich, silky, and decadently fresh. The baklava was crisp, nutty, and soaked in the kind of honey syrup that makes your eyes roll back in delight. You could tell each piece was handmade with pride.
This is more than a restaurant, it’s a home. A place where the food is made with heart and served with a smile. We left feeling so loved, so well-fed, and already planning our return.
God bless Sahara Grill and everyone who makes it what it is. You’ve got our hearts, and our...

Sahara Grill on SW 8th Street is one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Miami when it comes to Mediterranean cuisine. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff makes you feel right at home. What really stands out here is the attention to detail, both in the taste of the food and in the way each plate is presented.
Every dish looks vibrant and appetizing, showing the pride the restaurant takes in both flavor and presentation. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, and the seasoning is done with a perfect balance that brings out authentic Mediterranean flavors.
My absolute favorite dish is the Beef Kafta Kabab. It’s always cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and seasoned with spices that make it incredibly flavorful without being overwhelming. The way it’s served, with beautifully arranged sides and garnishes, makes the plate look just as good as it tastes. It’s the kind of meal that makes you want to come back again and again.
Whether you’re dining alone, with family, or bringing friends, Sahara Grill is a place that consistently delivers excellent food, generous portions, and friendly service. If you love Mediterranean cuisine—or just want to enjoy a memorable meal—I highly recommend giving...
Read moreAn excellent new offering for Westchester / FIU folks! There's a real shortage of good middle eastern in this town, and Sahara Grill does much to fix that.
The conventional offerings like dolma & hummus are very good - but where they really shine is their take on Shawarma, which is absolutely incredible: you get an excellent pita stuffed (and I mean stuffed!) with meat, veggies and sauce. I'm reminded a bit of German-style Donner, but in my opinion this is a much more flavorful sandwich.
I've had just about everything oon their menu and the Shawarma is what I keep coming back to. I also adore their "Sahara Pizza" which must be tasted to be believed (and is also an incredible value).
For a quick snack, definitely get the arayes pita - a perfect bite on the go. Speaking af arayes: try the "arayes sushi" - don't worry, it's fully cooked! It's just an interesting presentation of arayes beef pressed into a sort of roll to look like suhi. It's a little sweet and a little savory - and it's really good.
The staff is super nice and friendly. This is a small, family-owned business.
This review was too easy to write - 5 stars...
