We stopped by because we’d heard very good things about the seafood dishes here. I’ll admit we had high expectations, so I’ll try to be as fair and thorough as I can in this review. This was my experience. We arrived early for dinner and looked for a table inside because the temperature outside was still quite warm. The restaurant is located in an industrial zone, and the parking is limited, small, with tight spots, and it’s very problematic to get in and out safely. The restaurant has a lovely outdoor dining space with plenty of shade and trees decorated with patio lights. We chose a table inside to enjoy the a/c - the a/c didn’t help, as it was still a bit warm inside. The inside space is nicely decorated with a rugged retro style that fits well with the theme. The staff is friendly, but service overall fell short of adequate. The server took our order twice, he came by took half our order, left to get our drinks, came back later without our drinks, entered the second part of our order, and still got it wrong. Our appetizers came out quickly, followed fast by one, and only one, of our entrees. Then, after a long while, we received our second entree along with a duplicate of our first entree, which we had to send back because we didn’t order it. The food tasted fine, but not a single item was so delicious that I would have it here again. We started with 3 appetizers; the shrimp cocktail, which looked good and presented nicely; an order of 6 oysters; an order of 3 assorted empanadas; and a side of tostones. For our mains, we had 2 house specialties; the Fried Snapper and the Fish Wheel in Creole Sauce. The presentation could have been better, but we proceeded to eat. The fried red snapper was placed sideways on an oval dish so that the head stuck out of the plate on one side and the tail stuck out on the other; it looked oddly placed. It came with two huge tostones (deep fried green plantains, smashed) topped with shredded cheese. The red snapper tasted ok, but nothing special or notable. The fish wheel felt overcooked and dry even though it was smothered in creole sauce, and it was served with avocado and plain white rice; the avocado was good but I stopped eating the fish after my second bite. The server never asked how the food was or why I left so much on my plate. I felt the prices were high for what we got. It was a mediocre atmosphere, the service was subpar, the food was poorly presented and a bit bland, the service wasn’t that good, and parking was terrible. I cannot...
Read moreThe food here is delicious, no doubt, but the service was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. We came at 3pm (not even rush hour) and still waited over an hour and a half for food, with water taking 30 minutes. Meanwhile, another table who arrived later were served dish after dish while everyone else was left waiting. Dirty dishes piled up over the counter, a lot of guests were left waiting to be seated, and staff looked overwhelmed. Clearly, poor management and lack of staff. After two hours, we weren’t even hungry anymore and had to take our food to go. Completely disappointing, not...
Read moreUnfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was not positive. The seafood tasted old and reheated, with a flavor far below expectations, especially considering the high prices. We ordered a specific dish, but they brought us a different one (much more expensive). In addition, they automatically add the service charge to the bill without asking, which I find inappropriate. Overall, I felt it was far too expensive for the...
