Talkin' Tacos Doral — Restaurant in Doral

I normally never leave reviews, but the egregious quality of product and my time being stolen from me prompted this review. I Placed a simple order for a cup of elote and a bean burrito. I ended up wasting upwards of 1 hour and 26 minutes of my life. I placed an order on the kiosk and expecting to wait nearly 20 minutes but my name was never called or notified via text that my order was ready. After finally getting my order the entire order was cold and zero signs of condensation on the lid of the container. As I pointed this out to the staff, I was offered for it to be “reheated” or “remade”. After declining the food from being reheated, an excepted it being “remade” I ended up with a burrito that did not include all of the items on ingredients listed on their menu and including adding extra sour cream, even if I had requested none in the original order.

Overall, I came here because I thought it would be a better alternative than fast food. Instead, I ended up paying double the price and wasting more time and walking away with disappointment and a stomach ache.

The hostess/food runner was friendly and kind and provided great customer service to de-escalate the situation but overall the food quality is not indicative of the pricing or the time spent.

Update 05/12/2025 Contacted Daryl and assisted me in completing the transaction. Very nice man and took ownership of the situation. He did things right by me. I will try to go and have a seat down meal to enjoy the place. Good food. I was probably one of those one-offs. Thanks Daryl.

Previous Review: Showed up for lunch. We were about to sit, but time crunch happened and we had to change to take out. We ordered via an ipad. Order placed and waited. Kept seen people come in and pick up their food. Other people were sat down after us and their food was arriving. The employees noticed and gave us a cake for our trouble. We continued to wait, about 45 minutes passed and another couple arrived sat after ordering. About 10 or so minutes their food came out. We were there about 1 hour waiting for take out. I asked the manager to give me my money back, they apologized and promised to refund in full what we paid. They told us to wait and to keep the food. I asked for a receipt to make sure the credit was done, they said they cant, but it was processing as canceled. I have checked my account since then, and they only refunded less than 50%. So, no, I do not trust...

I've been meaning to try Talkin' Tacos for a long time. With all of the rave reviews and food bloggers that have featured it I was excited to finally give it a try and I'm extremely sad to say that it was disappointing. Let's start with the good. The portions are fair for the price. It's not a cheap meal but the amount of food you get makes you feel like you're not getting ripped off. The guac was also good. Not the best I've had, but good. That's it.

Everything else was bad. My wife got the birria burrito and I got the birria crispy stack wrap. Underwhelming does not begin to explain how we felt about our meals. Nothing in either of our orders had any flavor except for the sauces and the birria was extremely dry and flavorless. The birria was what we were most excited for and it just did not deliver. I wish I could stop at saying that it wasn't the best, but I can't. It was the worst birria I've ever had. I've been with my wife for 8 years and this is the first time I've ever seen her not finish a meal.
