Today, I ordered two breakfast burritos, neither which was remarkable. My issues with them:
Pro tip: Do NOT order online through their website. I ordered through their website and paid the idiotic $2.50 "convenience fee." But they don't even prepare your food til you get there and you still have to go through the same drive-thru as everyone else, so there is no "convenience" and you really save no time.
I just moved back from Southern California, which is obviously much closer to Mexico and does breakfast burritos far better than Taco Veloz. What's missing in this chain's breakfast burritos is hashbrowns, which is just absolutely obligatory for taste. As is, Veloz's burritos only have egg, meat, rice and beans, which, really, is just a regular burrito with eggs. Very boring and not worth ordering.
I ordered the breakfast burrito with "beef and pork sausage," which I THOUGHT would be pork links, but nope, it was hot dog. Ridiculous, cheap ingredients and not any good.
A very underwhelming food experience here that I don't recommend. Instead, I recommend Las Tortas Locas, whose food is way better and much...
Read moreThe lady helping me did not speak English and another lady in the background, who did speak English, was instructing her on what to say. The menu on Google said this restaurant has Taco Salad but the actual menu doesn't. The non-English speaking woman got an attitude when I asked for taco salad and the other lady yelled in the background that they do not have taco salad. After I went ahead and ordered the English speaking woman asked if I wanted anything else, so I decided to look on the menu and take a 2 seconds to look and she yelled DO YOU WANT SOMETHING ELSE! To which I yelled back HOLD ON! After 5 more seconds of looking, I said, no that's it, the Lon the Non-English Speaking woman got back on and said Que? I repeated myself and she started speaking in Spanish.
Complete wast of my time and I drove off. Do yourself a favor and go to Taqueria Los Rayos up the street. More...
Read moreThis is my favorite hole in the way taco joint ITP. I've driven from staying in Roswell to come here. I've driven from downtown, south of downtown, Decatur... and every time I come home from out of town, I go.
I go when I'm happy, when I'm sad and need comfort food, and I bring everyone who asks for tacos.
The green sauce is spicy. The chicken tacos are off the charts incredible. Honestly, I'm the biggest fan of their breakfast though: huevos rancheros, with chorizo, the two kinds of eggs... plus then they come with shells, rice, and beans.
Burritos are good too. And the horchata. By horchata...what I really mean is nectar of the damn gods. OF THE GODS, people. I've been living in Wisconsin, and here, people make it too sweet. But taco veloz has the recipe down. You'll want it. And it'll help combat the devious and delicious green salsa if you...
