Atlanta Glassblowing — Attraction in Doraville

Sam is an incredible teacher! I have taken 2 classes (so far!) and both have been a wonderful experience. I can objectively say I’m not built for glassblowing (e.g. too short, bad lung capacity) and yet he’s such a good teacher that both times I’ve made something I’m proud of (and had a great time doing it!). The first time was a vase and the second was a paperweight. I’ve finally found a class where I can relax and spent an hour learning and enjoying a medium that I’ve always wanted to try.

I can tell he’s truly a professional and loves what he does. He understands glass intuitively and it makes it so I know I’ll have a good time, be able to get out of my own head, and be fully present for the time I’m there. Thank you, Sam! My wife and I took the class with Sam for my birthday. We both got to pick what we wanted to make and the colors of it. I made a glass and my wife made a pumpkin. Sam, the owner, showed us how to make each and than we walked us though making ours. The class was an amazing experience and our cup and pumpkin turned out amazing. Sam was able to help guide us through the process and lended us more help when we needed it. We also bought the demo pieces that he made so now we will have two cups and two pumpkins. His showroom has a lot of really nice pieces and we picked up a pumpkin with a snowman on top. It was super cute and will look great all year already. If you're on the fence about taking the class, you should totally do it with Sam. Well...

Sam gave my partner and I a great introduction to glassblowing! He was very professional, and provided us plenty of options to choose from for a hands-on, early beginner session. We had a great time creating some ornaments together as he walked us through each step, and showcased a demo presentation before we walked into what to expect. He let us know we could pick up our ornaments in two days time for a proper cooldown time.

He also produces some great work for sale; It seemed as the glass pumpkins were also a great hit since I saw quite a few sold as people came in and out to make some purchases. Check out his shop for sure! Best glassblowing...
