When I was in college, I worked at a Chinese restaurant called the China Station. I ate the best Chinese food. Our boss, Sue would make us authentic Chinese food after work. One of my favorite dishes was Mongolian beef. Since then I have been on the hunt for good Mongolian beef like the one Sue made us. Finally I found something similar to the Mongolian beef at Lao Sze Chuan! If you want delicious Mongolian beef get their Mongolian Tenderloins. It is so good! The meat is tender. The veggies are not overcooked. It's perfectly seasoned! I highly recommend the Hot and Sour soup as well!
I love the atmosphere. It's such a beautiful and relaxing environment to enjoy their delicious food. The decor is classy and modern. This is a great place for any occasion whether you are celebrating your birthday, anniversary, or graduation.
As for the service, the staff is welcoming and professional. Jessica, my waitress was amazing. She answered all of my questions and gave great recommendations. She was attentive and friendly but gave me space and time to order and enjoy my food! Make sure you get her as your waitress.
So if you want delicious food, great service, and a modern and sophisticated environment, go...
Read moreThey just opened. Interesting triple concept restaurant (3 in 1). One huge bldg housing an upscale Chinese eatery (Lao Szechuan), a funky more laid back “cook your own at the table” all you can eat restaurant (Kanpai Shabu Shabu), and in the middle a cool vibe boba cafe with drinks & desserts (Te’Amo). We went to Lao Szechuan side (but I was able to order a drink from Te’Amo at the same time).
Food was pretty good. My favs: the Peking Duck and the White Mustache Purple Ube Organic Milk Drink (delicious)! We also got Salt & Pepper Fried Tofu, 5 Spice Thin Sliced Beef, Singapore Curry Chow Mei Fun, and spicy Hunan Sliced Pork. What a feast!
The Peking Duck was to die for! Beautifully presented, succulent w/ thin crispy golden skin. It came w/ these delicate crepes to wrap it in (which held ip well) and accoutrements. The perfect bite! Will be back to try more dishes…and get the Peking Duck again.
Only complaint was the food took a while to come out. The restaurant was starting to fill up so the kitchen was running behind. Hopefully they’ll get this ironed out soon, but they...
Read moreThis review is for the Lao Sze Chuan and Tea'mo side. Amazing triple restaurant concept in Doraville, nice to have a mid-high end Sichuan Chinese option. I knocked off one star because we were told our wait time was 20-30min but ended up being over an hour. I do like their wait-list system but make sure you put your name down early.
Purely food based review:
Tea'mo Thai Tea and Boba - Really good, would get again!
Apps: Century Egg and Green Bean Jelly - Both surprisingly good! If you like these more traditional eats, they do it well here.
Braised Egg Plant - Our favorite veggie dish! Must order here!
Tony's Chicken - Really good take on spicy chicken that's also sweet mala flavor!
Chefs Special Triple Delight - Decent seafood dish that's definitely tasty and fresh, but bit pricey.
Peking Duck (half portion) - Presentation wise this takes the cake! The owner even brought it out himself! Really yummy and would say one of the better offerings in ATL!
Salted Egg Tofu - One of the more disappointing dishes, kinda wish it was stronger salted flavor,...
