Edited 2/22/22 - Went there again a few time the last couple of months and no sight of the rude lady. I don't know if enough people complained or if the owner just had enough but she's gone. Thank goodness. Love the food but wasn't worth getting my day ruined by the rude lady. Now I can go enjoy my food without having to worry about having that same experience as my past below.
Went there last night 8/3/21 for dinner and one of the servers were extremely rude. The other servers were so nice and friendly but there is this one lady who just seems like she doesn't want to be there every time we go. We don't go frequently but do like to enjoy the food here from time to time. In the past we just notice she's not too friendly but today she was just so rude I'm still shocked.
Firstly as we get seated she brings us 3 waters. 2 of us would rather have hot water so we proceed to ask her for 2 hot waters. Her reply "둘중에 하나만 골라요" (you have to only choose one) Uumm we clearly didn't want the cold waters. That's why we asked for hot water. She acts like we were asking for both.
We clearly were unhappy with her so we purposely didn't want any interaction with her so we tried to avoid her as much as possible. Again the other servers had no problems. They were great.
As we were eating our food we were low on some side dishes. Bear in mind this is our first time asking for a refill and having 3 people of course it's not enough. We wanted to ask for 2 specific ones instead of asking for a refill of everything (don't want to waste) so we press the call button and the rude lady comes walking over to hand us the check (as if to say hurry up and leave) while we still haven't even finished our food. So I proceed to ask her can I have some more 잡채(clear noodles) and broccoli. Before I can even finish she blurts "잡채 떨어젔어요" (were out of clear noodles" and leaves. Okay if your out that's fine. I have no issues with that but saying it like that would definitely rub someone the wrong way. Atleaat say sorry we're out of clear noodles and I would have no problem. We continue to eat there and I notice trays of side dishes for multiples tables WITH THE CLEAR NOODLES. Looks like plenty of it too. This lady straight up lied about being out so that she didn't have to bring us more!
Yall I don't know about you but I felt so disrespected. I did nothing to her to offend her. Every time we go we greet them politely and try our best not to inconvenience them. The other lady's were so kind but I had to give a small tip just because of her. If I could choose who the tip goes to I would have given the lady's a good tip and nothing to her.
We do like to go to this establishment and would like to continue but now seeing that lady just makes me...

I recently dined at Sokondong Tofu House and I can honestly say it was one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had. The food? It was okay—nothing to write home about but certainly edible. However, that’s where the positives end.
The atmosphere of the restaurant can best be described as below average. The decor felt outdated and dingy, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. It’s not exactly a place that invites you to relax and enjoy your meal.
But the real kicker was the service. I have never encountered such rude staff in my dining experiences. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than valued customers. Our server was dismissive, short-tempered, and seemed to have a personal vendetta against hospitality. It was astonishing to watch them interact with other patrons in the same manner.
To make matters worse, they tried to pressure us into leaving a tip for their abysmal service! It felt like a bad joke. I’ve been to places where the service was subpar, but I’ve never been made to feel guilty for not tipping for such terrible treatment. It was infuriating.
Honestly, if you’re considering dining here, I strongly recommend you think twice. Save yourself the headache and choose a restaurant that values its customers and provides a pleasant dining experience. Don’t let Sokondong Tofu House ruin your day like...
Read moreI ordered beef soup and wanted to add some scallions to make the dish tastier, but the staff told me they didn’t have any. However, I noticed that the table next to me had scallions in their dish. When I asked again, I was told that scallions are only available if I order that particular dish. This explanation seemed unreasonable. Moreover, the staff’s attitude was really friendly, and their answers were inconsistent. I sincerely hope the restaurant will look into this matter. I was seated at table number 5 at 8:00 PM on September 21. This is the way owner answered me: "I am sorry for being unsatisfied with our services but we don't serve scallions to any food and customers ". It might have been scallions or something similar. I used different words to refer to what I wanted. I believe you were not being honest or you didn’t check with your staff about what actually happened to me. I clearly pointed out to your staff the Korean beef ribs dish on the table next to mine, and said I wanted the garnish on top from that dish (I pointed blue round on the pic). Your staff told me that I would have to order that dish in order to be served that garnish. That sounds ridiculous. How do you explain this? I don’t believe that garnish is so expensive that it cannot be served separately, or that I couldn’t even pay extra to have it. Your explanation is...
