We gave this production a try after reading about it in Discover Atlanta and were pleasantly surprised by how much they were able to pull off on a smaller budget and space. Thought-provoking subject matter that did a good job of examining multiple POVs on the main theme with solid acting across the cast in various roles. The standout for us was the actress who played Gloria/Nan—very natural and convincing in both roles and a pleasure to watch inhabit and bring those two characters to life. We left with a sense of gratitude for the actors, the play, and the director's gentle but powerful depiction of "Our Town". Thank you, Joanne and...
Read moreAttended opening night of Anna in the Tropics and this was my first visit here. What a gem of a venue. But the show itself was the star, especially the main character who mirrored Anna Karenina, only in 1920s Tampa. The two hours went by like 20 minutes and if you are a humanities person, you will love the way this play celebrates the power of literature to illuminate the search for contentment. Thank you (much more than)...
