Time & Date of visit]: Many weekday nights and weekend afternoons
[Location/Ambiance]: Directions & Parking - Getting into the plaza when heading northbound on Buford Hwy can be a challenge when the road is busy. The shop is located right before the light and at times residents of the nearby apartment, one drive way over can be rushing out while you are in the midst of making a left turn. Play it safe and be patient. Parking availability varies at different times I feel. Prime time outing hours might leaving you driving around the building a bit. It's a bit cramped so, if any d-bag can't seem to park within the lines, someone might be losing an opportunity at a space. If you're just grabbing and going, the three spaces in the front are for you.
Inside - Lighting is pretty bright, just due to the way the lighting highlights the baked goods I think. The long running booth is more open, as I feel the four top tables are just way to close to each other and you'll have to request your neighbor to scoot up if you are leaving / heading to get your order.
[Service]: Self serve. Order and pick up at the counter. There's also a station for more napkins, plastic utensils, coffee stirrers and other various condiments. The hot drinks are given more time to prepare vs the cold / iced drinks I've noticed at times. If your baked good is a little cold or you prefer something hot, the cashiers usually can accommodate nuking something in the microwave for you.
[Food Highlights]:
Not a vast selection of sweets such as Sweet Hut. Usually there are some new items if you're willing to give it a try. Though some items I don't think I would order again. But I have more of a sweet tooth so tastes can vary.
Things I usually like to order from here that are usually consistent are the cronuts, blueberry chiffon cake / slice, chai latte, and almond velvet iced tea.
{Summary}: Though other states have newer food items from their Paris Baguette, which I see postings from Instagram. This location has a slight delay before it becomes available. Overall, if you want something not as crowded by volume of people, and prefer more hot drinks I would recommend...
Read moreThe international French-inspired bakery specializes in authentic baked goods — breads, cakes, pastries, as well as signature coffee and tea products. Depending on the location, the Paris Baguette menu not only offers baked goods (with full cakes or slices), but also hand-crafted gourmet sandwiches for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and salads. I originally thought this was a local, Mom and Pop operation, but after researching found out that the bakery has over 50 stores in the US and 4,000-plus franchises from Shanghai to Los Angeles and Manhattan to Chicago.
Having not been to France, I'm unsure how closely this resembles a Paris bakery, but its my new favorite bakery and cafe because of the quality selection of baked goods not normally find in most bakeries. Daily, the boulangerie's menu has a varied offering of freshly prepared croissants with additions like fruit, cream cheese, chocolate, almonds or savory meat and cheese combinations like ham and cheese, pastry franks, and smoked sausage. This place is awesome!
Last visit, I had the Pain Au Chocolat which had the perfect balance of chocolate added to buttery pastry and a Cafe Latte which made for the best start to my morning. Can't...
Read moreI've always loved Paris Baguette for its delicious pastries and coffee, but my recent experiences have been incredibly disappointing. This marks my third visit in as many weeks, and each time I've been greeted by empty shelves and a lack of the warm, inviting atmosphere I used to know.
Hoping to avoid the weekend rush, I visited today (Monday) at 7:15 PM, 45 minutes before closing. Unfortunately, the shelves were once again bare and dirty, with a trash can inexplicably placed in front of a cabinet. To make matters worse, the attendant was eating her lunch and completely ignored me and my partner. We weren't even acknowledged or offered any assistance, leaving us feeling unwelcome and frustrated.
Considering the lack of Starbucks options on Buford Highway, Paris Baguette used to be my go-to spot for a coffee or pastry. However, after this string of disappointing experiences, I'm hesitant to return anytime soon. Perhaps in the far future, I'll give it another try, but for now, I'll be looking for a more welcoming and consistently stocked...
