As a visitor from Texas, I was beyond impressed with my experience at Matcha Cafe Maiko. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was welcoming and calming—exactly the kind of environment I look for when I want to relax or get some studying done. The café has a clean, modern aesthetic with a touch of traditional Japanese influence, making it a cozy yet sophisticated spot to enjoy some matcha and unwind.
What truly blew me away, however, was the service. The barista was incredibly efficient—my drink was made and handed to me in under 15 seconds. I’ve visited plenty of cafes across the country, and I’ve never seen drinks prepared that quickly without compromising quality. It was clear that the staff is well-trained, professional, and committed to offering the best customer experience possible.
The matcha itself was phenomenal. You can instantly taste the difference in quality—they use real, fresh matcha that’s rich, earthy, and smooth without being bitter. I tried the iced matcha latte and a matcha soft serve, and both were perfectly balanced and refreshing. It’s rare to find a place that not only takes pride in the ingredients they use but also serves each drink with precision and care.
I also appreciated how quiet and comfortable the space was for studying. There were several people working on laptops, reading, or just enjoying the peaceful vibe, and I can definitely see myself spending a whole afternoon here if I lived nearby.
Whether you’re a matcha enthusiast or just someone looking for a peaceful café with top-tier service, Matcha Cafe Maiko is a must-visit. I’m already looking forward to my next trip back, and I’ll definitely be recommending this place to friends and family.
I recommend getting the Matcha Latte Float, Strawberry Matcha Latte and Ube...
Read moreI recently visited this place for the first time with my son. Since we were new, we ordered a few drinks, dango, and ice cream to try different items from the menu. The food itself was great, but unfortunately, the service left a bad impression. The cashier, a young man, was very polite and friendly, and I have no complaints about him. However, the woman handing out the orders was extremely rude. She called out names for each order, and when ours was ready, I went to pick it up and simply asked why there were only two dango in my order. I had ordered two portions—one for myself and one for my son. She immediately snapped at me, saying that I had only ordered two pieces, not two portions. I politely responded that I thought the portion included three pieces, as shown in the menu picture. Instead of explaining calmly, she rudely told me that the picture was just an image and that I shouldn’t pay attention to it. I still didn’t fully understand, so I asked if two pieces were considered one portion. At that point, she became extremely rude, raising her voice and telling me that if I wanted more, I should just order more. She seemed very irritated and overwhelmed, but that is no excuse for speaking to a customer in such a disrespectful way. I understand that perhaps I misunderstood the portion size, but I asked a simple question in a polite manner and was met with aggression. She was clearly frustrated, but someone with such an attitude should not be working in customer service. The experience left both my son and me feeling very uncomfortable and shocked. Honestly, we have never experienced such terrible customer service anywhere in the U.S. before. It was disappointing, as the food was great, but I don’t think we will...
Read moreI finally made my way down to Atlanta this past weekend to try this matcha cafe out! I had never had matcha before, so I thought this would be the best place to have my first experience trying it. I am sooo glad that I did, because the matcha soft serve swirl was out of this world delicious! The price tag on this sweet treat was $5.88 after tax.
I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor of matcha. The matcha soft serve was rich and creamy in sweetness, but also a little astringent. I couldn't exactly wrap my mind around the taste, but at the same time I was enjoying every lick! Matcha is definitely an acquired taste; a little strange, but also a little exotic. All that to be said, I almost ordered another soft serve cone because it was just that good!
The only negative I have about this cafe is the location. There is VERY LIMITED parking out front. I only counted 6 spots with 1 being a handicap parking spot. I ended up parking in the Kung Fu Tea parking lot and walking over, because there were no parking spots up front when I drove up. Not a problem for me because I like walking, but I can totally see how this could limit the amount of foot traffic they experience throughout the day. Nonetheless, if you can find a parking spot and get your foot in the door, it is totally worth the experience!
I've read some reviews that advise people NOT to park in the Korea town parking lot behind Matcha Cafe Maiko. Supposedly, there is an crazy Korean lady who will get your car towed if she sees you using "her" parking lot and not going into the stores located in the little shopping strip lol Hence why I parked over by Kung Fu Tea. Just passing on a helpful tip I've read...
