When I moved to Douglas, I was thrilled to see a Hungry Howies. The one in my home town had closed years before, and I despaired of ever tasting one of their amazing Calzones again. Then I came here.
Tonight is the second time I've tried to order one. This go around, I thought I'd call in. It had been a long, hard day, and I wanted to just relax at home. I spent 10 minutes going through the process of attempting to tell the same blonde checkout girl who gave me the wrong size order in a takeout box the last time I ate in, my address, and phone number. She confused the number twice... three times... and thought that my phone number was my card number. This was after five minutes trying to determine I was in the delivery area (I live less than three miles away). Finally I gave up and told them I'd just come down there and pick it up. She said it would be 5 to 10 minutes. 15 minutes later when I arrived I waited another 10 minutes. Then the person who brought me the calzone asked me if I'd already paid... AFTER I handed her 10 bucks cash (I wasn't about to go through the frustration of giving them a credit card). She started to wander off, and I said "That's (pointing to the money) for this (pointing to the calzone box). " I had to repeat it twice. Eventually she handed the money off to the blonde who couldn't take a phone order, and she rang me up. As I was waiting I looked inside the box to make sure they gave me the extra sub sauce as requested. I saw extra packets and thought maybe I was OK.
Frustrated I finally made it home to eat my Calzone, and all was relatively well.. until I opened my second sub sauce packet. Mayonnaise. They gave me half sub sauce and Mayonnaise.
I might go back, when someone else is on shift... but if I see the same crew,...
Read moreOrder was not correct so, I called back to see what I could do...only to have the employees laugh loudly and make jokes in the background. When someone finally got on the phone they were also laughing and dropping the phone and I was supposed to be speaking with a manager at that time so I just hung up and tossed the pizza and got McDonald's. Really poorly managed with NO effort made to apologize or correct the order apparently it was extremely funny that my 2 children had no food for dinner and the issue wasn't even acknowledged at all by the manager who came to the phone to laugh and act like there was some joke as well. Didn't want anything that was handled by those particular employees for my children anyway so we won't be going back to wait an hour for the pizza I also sat for quite sometime at the pick up window with several people in view before anyone came over and helped me, the female who got the pizza was very nice and got everything I asked for . It was just when I called back about 2 mins after I pulled away.. I'm assuming they just didn't want to replace the order so close to closing time..which would've annoyed me but not nearly as much as being shuffled around like a game of hot potato on the phone and being laughed at with my 2 crying children in the background. Disappointed that's all everyone wants to go home at the end of the day but could've been handled alot better...
Read moreHighly disappointed with delivery . Delivery was scheduled for 12:00 P.M. The order was placed at 11:18. I received 5 orders at 12:56. Someone in the front office called around 12:24, asking about the status of the order. A man stated the driver was pulling in the parking lot. Around 12:53, someone at Hungry Howies called a co worker and stated the driver came to the office and was informed that there wasn't anyone with the names on the orders working here. I then got on the phone and asked did they come to Eastside School or Eastside Church. I walked to the office to ask about this. The person had been in the office and stated no one came in with a delivery. When the driver finally came, I asked did she come in the first time. She stated "'NO, II asked someone who was standing outside was this the address and if these people work here." She stated that person said "No". So, she left. I told her that probably was a parent or visitor she asked and why she didn't come inside the building the first time. She said, "Because my GPS sent me to the apartments across the street." There is an option for place of delivery and I clicked on SCHOOL. We received our food at 12:56. 56...
