I walked in and was pleasantly greeted by two of the waitresses and sat at the bar. It has the feel of a classic small town American diner, complete with regular patrons judging from the staff and customer interactions. Very warm and welcoming. My waitress checked in and got drinks to me quickly. When asked about recommendations, she was very helpful. The coffee here is really good. Both waitresses checked in with me multiple times asking if Iād like a warm up on my coffee. Awesomely attentive and personable staff! The eggs Benedict I ordered came out fast and was cooked to perfection. The hollandaise sauce was some of the best Iāve had (they make their own). Hash browns were crisp and browned and not greasy at all. Good size portions for the price as well. Definitely will return to this hidden gem whenever Iām in the area!
Update: I went back to this place in February and got a eggs, bacon and pancakes. The pancakes were like greasy styrofoam, the eggs were over cooked and the bacon was slightly burnt. I canāt even voice my disappointment after having such a good experience the first time I came here. The staff seemed less attentive and more interested with the āregularsā and it took longer for coffee warm ups. Sitting in the main dining area this time, I found the place to be a bit more run down and in need of general maintenance and cleaning. Due to this experience, I have to down rate my original review from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I came here for breakfast for the first time to try someplace new. Our waitress was outstandingly kind! Our food came out hot & fresh. I realized part way through my meal that one portion of my dish wasn't quite cooked to the preference that I ordered, but, our waitress noticed on her own when she circled back around and quickly made things right. I experience a lot of anxiety and typically don't speak up when things happen; It made such a meaningful difference that our waitress was observational enough to not only recognize & fix my order, but to also be so very sweet and offer reassurance when I was hesitant. I really wish I remembered her name so I could give her the credit she deserves! Thanks so much for a good breakfast experience! For a busy Saturday morning during Holland's Tulip Time tourism, the front & kitchen staff are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I planned on getting a small breakfast before we started our day because we planned on hitting the breweries and restaurants around town. We changed our minds once we got there, the food all sounded so good so we got what we wanted and we ate all of it! My husband had steak and eggs and the steak was cooked beautifully and I got the special called the Southern Benedict. Two biscuits, country fried steak, topped with gravy and two eggs to finish it. It was delicious and now we are stuffed and probably won't eat the rest of the day but honestly it was worth it. The staff was very welcoming and the atmosphere brought me back to my childhood living in a small town. The dinner was where everyone met in the morning for coffee and gossip about everything. This place has that vibe and we will probably go back for breakfast...
